Anyone here in Vancouver play at Collingwood on Sunday afternoon? I heard that is very competitive.

Collingwood on Sunday afternoon has a very strong group of players. They play feathers, and the cost is very reasonable. But just be aware that the experience level is pretty high, and is expected of new players - they really don't like getting beginners or novices here.
You might have to get there early to ensure signup since it is often quite busy.

Dropsmash - where do you normally play?

Badrad,

Do you go to Collingwood every Sunday? Or do you usually play at VRC on Sunday?

No - haven't been to Collingwood for at least four or five years now. We used to play there occasionally but I alway hated the wait and lineup to sign in - and the occasional over booked.

Usually I am at the vrc sunday afternoon to train with my daughter and her friends. I do have a regular schedule of playing, but lately been too busy to get down there at regular times, which has likely been ticking off some of my regular partners. Also the afternoons have been tied up with the high school team training, which i have committed to for the duration of the school season.

Thanks Badrad.

Will you go to VRC for training with your family this Sunday? If you will, do you mind if I come by? Please check for my PM.

I believe Ian is currently enjoying the Sun in Singapore. Should be back next week, I think.

Deer lake badminton club is not a general public club, but do occasionally accept new players if there is room. ALthough it is drop in there, the person who runs it may restrict who can play. Membership is really by invitation and participation. It sounds sort of weird, but it works for them, and it controls the volume.

Grufey, Deer lake plays every tuesday and thursday from 8:00 to 10:00. BCIT plays tues and thurs too from 8:00 to 10:45. The fees for Deer lake is $3.00 and BCIT is $1.00 for students, $2.00 for alumni, and $5.00 for public. What part of Burnaby do you live in? I also live in Burnaby near City hall. Where do you normally play?

I live about 2 blocks away from Metrotown. I usually play at Bonsor on fridays from 4:15-7:00, and South Secondary from 11:30-2:30. I sometimes go to Badrad's sessions at Guiltford center and Cambie high school, rarely though, and dependent on my school work.
