just as we suspected. The new 7x5 is suited for fast and all out games. Tactics would be short and simple but changes quickly. There good and bad to all changes but if more good come out of it, i think i'm willing to budges to accomodate the new system.
I don't know whether it's good or not. I seem to lose even more badly with this 5x7.

why lose? Just play aggresive and you'll be fine!
I think it will be better for the sport i.e more tv coverage etc.
It also makes badminton more fun to play.

It's honestly a tougher game for us who are used to 15 points...
May be it's all just pschological???
That could be it.
I am an offensive player.
i think in old system it is difficult to sustain a fast pace
throughout 45 points or more.Games become very long with
long rallies especially 2nd set to wear out opponent as one
takes a breather or even throws the set to play the final set.
I think in new system you might be able to sustain same pace
for 21 to 35 points with intervals in between.Maybe it is good
in some way as many older players cannot play 3 sets but can
play new system.

Come to think if this system was used back in the 80's Liem Swie King would be the king. Would Morten Frost, Yang Yang, Hoyer-Larsen and co. enjoyed the success they had?
I know what Viver is saying.Players took advantage of Swie King by encouraging him to smash himself silly and then clobber
him in the final set. He didn't win any tourney after 1983, at 27 years old but played singles in Thomas cup up to 1986 with a very laid back style.Players such as Ardy, Foo Kok keong, HanJian , roslin etc thrive on wearing out their opponents.
