i have played in wood, concrete, plastic tiles, carpet, but never grass.

and also is it indoor?

doesn't sound like it's feasible.

Normal grass and dirt is soft, and doesn't allow you to change directions fast enough because the ground would simply give way. If the dirt is packed enough to give adequate support, the grass would not get enough aeration or moisure and die.

Grass is also slippery.

I think it's tennis...

However, take away all the bad factors (slippery, soft, outdoor, wind, etc)... hey, at least soft grass is good for protect me from diving... :o

Carpet??? How u run without falling to the ground??? Wow... amazing... no wonder u r better than me... ;)

Hey, if it's soft grass, we could play in bare feet or sandals. And even in shorts or swimming trunks. Hahaha pass the sunblock! :cool:

carpet... yes. played in two different gyms with two different types of carpet. my old sec school has a hard compressed carpet floor. Yong's gym in Holland has a short and softer texture.

they are not the fluffy type of cut carpet you got at home! those will be really unplayable. but either one, they are nice and soft, but the draw back is that if you do a dive, you get a horrible carpet burn, and then shoes get worn out really quickly.

it does feel different though, no more of those "squeek squeek squeek squeek" sound from rubbing rubber soles on waxed hardwood floor. and all movements are a little bit damped..

There is beach badminton court in here. The court is located outside but protected from the wind. The surface is the same like for the beach volleyball. I personaly don't think that it is good idea but there are other people that play there.

I would play if i am still in michigan, but i am not anymore
