Your communication with your partner in terms of positioning is pretty good - better than mine!

You need to remember to square (stand side to side) when you hit a clear though - don't leave the court too open.

you do that, because most players take 2 steps to move to their recieving position after a serve, the steps are left, right, so then you put your right foot out. if you can get to the spot in one step, u put your left foot out orrelse you'll have to drag your left foot around.

The first game with the red shirt friend is the first time I partnered with him and I always had trouble adjusting to the bald guy when partnered with him due to his single style play. Anyways, its easier to see our mistakes from the outside (i.e using videos like this) and the challenge will be to implement it on the court.

The biggest challenge when clearing from the corner base court is that a drop by the opponent onto the clearers side which I found most intermediate player will failed to react on time(which is also my problem). So as a partner I will always resort to the middle of the court to get ready for all possibilities until i am sure he is back to his position.

My ideal partner will always be attacking doubles player with good wrist and court control.

As for my apparent weakness, its the short backhand serve and as most people, the backhand clears to the baseline.

I might upload short rallies of my badminton game in my last racketlon tournament. I was playing pretty good even if I ended not winning it.

I ended up recording a game and a half today in singles. Rallies were short as usual. Watching it has made me realize how out of shape I am and how much I baby my knee (just fear of reinjuring self). It's gonna take a while to upload.

So the video finally uploaded. I'm gonna say this again, I am out of shape and only play once or twice a month. :p Expect a lot of short rallies and me moving extremely slow. Also, white walls + yellowish floors = very bad bird visibility on video. We're also using a plastic shuttle cause we don't have any feather birds. :p

I'm closest to the camera when starting. Dark Gray shirt, solid black shorts.

Nice , I can see you were completely taking the attack. How old was the other person? He looked really young! But very good for his age!

I would say age 12 - 14. I know someone who went to China to train and was placed in a group ranging in ages between 12 - 15.

    great footwork

Same here! I love the fluid motion - just shows what practice can do.

Now for me to go do it (and stop using schoolwork as an excuse :))

How long were you there for? The guy I was referring to was there for a year and was coached by Chen Jin's dad. He got a couple shirts from Chen Jin too. He did move into an older age group 15 - 17 later on.
