nevermind, i can wait till 2011. too many RSL rackets for the time being. yes...yes...yes... before we decide to invest RM300++
The Z.A.R = can hear the racket whistling when smashing, so noisy The wood paint = gave me the wood feel when hitting the shuttle, not bad.
just try the heat 700 for first session, no whistling sound(maybe my smash not power innuf). It ok for me,not too heavy, but will put it into more game n test. Also will try my friend rsl 9500 to compare it..will also post the pic...my office moved this week..so no internet for me:crying:.
Not sure about Z.A.R. May be a nice looking technology but it's been tried before in cycling and didn't work then. The two main reasons are that it increased drag and it weakened the structure of the bicycle frame. Also they had a tendancy to over do it and the bike ended up looking like a swiss cheese and broke easily. I think I'll give this one a pass.
Yep this applies to racquets, by placing a hole in the t-joint of the racquet they have 1) reduced the amount of material in an area of high stress. This makes failure more likely. I bet if you checked all the racquets that have been broken on the head of the racquet over 90% would have failed at string hole. 2) Standard aerodynamics theory applies to the hole placed in the throat of the racquet. This means that there is extra drag around the throat area. Would need an expert in aerodynamics to explain it properly but it could be more aerodynamic - but the hole needs to be bigger than the shaft of the racquet. These are just basic engineering principles, and while the racquet may look good and have a unique selling point (marketing loves these sort of things) for durability and aerodynamics in a racquet these ideas are best left on the shelf
i'm back and my first question is where to buy rackets in penang or KL? first time going back in a long time. thinking laser900 or 800 or the heat 700. anyone, any suggestions? need to buy box of bg80 too to go along with racket ilonsama - need more feedback drifit... want to go yam cha? if got time. (still got to thank you for those x2s from like 2 years ago)
Since this thread deals with RSL racquets and their tech aspects, i like add my little contribution....I've added it a smaller thread b4 but i think i might help lot of RSL fans..Pity it dint have 10 series lined..any ways here goes... ~^Anand
It is a very good point malsharpes. It's few things to do with their design, also engineering session. I agree this is a really challenge technology for badminton rackets. But i guess RSL also have their engineering team for taking the responsibillity of this design? I just order a 900 and 700. Will post the review soon . BTW... personally suggested, do not get the 800 since itzzzzz jsut the wooden look rather than any new technology in the racket. However.. just a personal opinion.
Finally... got my internet back!! The RSL m700 weight feel more like 84-86g...maybe the hallow at the T-joint make it lighter went we swing... compare to 9500,the m700 feel just a little bit lighter(very little)...also, i think maybe the hollow... m700 is a little bit flex then the 9500....feel more like Diomand AP.. for now, that all i can says....if u guys want me to test on something or got question, can ask me...i'll do my best to answer..
do you feel like your smash more powerful? how is the feeling (though i wrap too much grap to feel anything). Is it a solid feelling with every hit, how about when mishit (i newbie). frame warp yet? what tension you string at? i guess it is head heavy?
drowsysmurf,u got 1 to eh?..string it with bg66 at 26Lbs...yup,it a head heavy( but not as head heavy as Laser 9900,m700 is a little lighter ).This make skinny guy like me can enjoy playing head heavy reket. FEELING-if we hit at the right spot, got the solid feeling,i try some stroke n smash n it's all great.I'm also a newbie n still need more practice,so cannot do anything when mishit GRIP-First, I wrap it fat, similar like the yellow 1(didn't take out the original wrap) n the head heavy feel gone..So, i rewrap again, take out the original rsl grip, wrap 1 layer of masking tape n wrap again..this time i wrap it skinny n not too high...(finally feel the head heavy). My suggestion is dont wrap it fat n high if u want to feel the reket spec...
no, no new racket... got the old x2 series only so wanted to know how the new one feels... the hole at t-joint and all. as for my grip... show pic another time.
I think the 9500 feel a little bit heavy because it's head heavy+little stiff than m700,also i found out that 9500 head area is more longer than other reket like m700,x2 blue or other reket,if not mistaken...I'll post the comparison pic next time(need to borrow 9500 from my friend first)
