I've just tried my JP coded 2UG5 ARC-8DX and the initial feeling is that it's a bit head lighter than my SP coded 2UG5 1st gen Ti10, and I have not achieved the same power smash as I can normally get from my 1st gen Ti10. But I can tell it a very good racket for doubles. Cheers.
It's been over a month and I can't get use to this racket. Swing speed seems sluggish. Gonna stick with my Victor Super Wave 36.
Are you a hard-hitter? What string do you have on it and @ what tension? It's the best racquet I've used, todate...from Carb21, Arc10, A700, NS9900, A900P and Arc Z-Slash.
I play doubles mostly now, but I was, and still am a singles player. Arc 7 has a medium flex shaft, but if you like hitting hard, then a stiffer shaft may help. The Arc 8DX shaft is extra stiff...that's why it suits me well.
Just got an Arc8DX from Cobee today. Just comparing it to the PPT1 and T2, the seems to have flex that's pretty close to the T1. Swinging around the air makes it feel a bit sluggish compared to the T2. It also feels a bit...hollow, I'm not quite sure how to describe it. It's 3U and it does seem lighter than I though it'd be. Once I get it strung up with BG80 or Zymax 67 I'll give it a test run!
I have to disagree with it because I have not experienced problems with doubles or singles skills. I mainly use my wrist to generate the power. Also using Arc100LTD as well which feels a wii bit heavier than Arc7, no problem there too. I have heard the exact opposite thou, that people want a head heavier racket or heavier racket because Arc7 is too light - that I can understand.
Not really a hard hitter. Not on a consistent basis anyways. Maybe I'm getting too old and weak to use one of these. It's strung with BG80 @ 26lbs. All my rackets are strung at 26lbs so I don't think it's the strings. Just the sluggish swing speed is making my slow reflexs seem even slower.
Haven't seen any on eBay :] But I'd expect them soon...since they don't cost much less than the ArcZ or Arc10 (and there are already fake Arc9's and Arc7's). e78 finally has the TW versions...but it's so hard trying to maneuver around the site... Mr. Chan hasn't updated sohubuy at all :[
