If NTM can get to participate in more tournaments, he could be ranked higher . Some BCers might not realise that the Vietnamese Badminton Association is not rich; to be able to send NTM to participate in more tournaments. If NTM can get to participate in more tournaments, I am sure he could easily fit into our current WORLD TOP 5 rankings without much problem. .
I agree with your idea Because, In the VietNam, VietNamese Badminton Association is not rich, so When Tien Minh took part in more tournaments, Tien Minh gave up pin money go to compete himself. He has no personal trainer He alone made all the procedures
Congrates for NTM for being the TOP 5 NTM is currently World #5. His ranking is even higher than LD's. Hope he will definitly break the ice in the upcomming worldwide tournaments and beat the 4 living legends LCW, LD, TF and PG. He made it so far. He can't give up now!
With respect, he cannot beat the Chinese Back Up players, what chance has he got, against LD, LCW etc. I have a lot of respect for NTM, but a players ranking is only a number, it doesn't always reflect there true standard/ability.
Who are the Chinese Back Up players are you talking about? I know that LD, LCW and many other players has beaten NTM. True that a players ranking is only a number, but it can give him confidence. Everybody expect LCW, LD, TH, PG and others to win, but sometimes, one man can make the difference. For example, Ji Xinpeng who never captured a top tier event on the international circuit, has won the MS at Sydney Olympic 2000. Nobody expected him to win, but he still beat everyone.
his playing style doesn't look agressive enough and skewed towards strokes. He will have problem playing fitter players. He is on downhill now. Whatever coaching he is doing is not working. Need a change.
Agree. I really like NTM. He's fast. He's strong and fit. But is he playing as intelligently as he can against those who can return his smashes and whom he can' t run into the ground? If he could afford to have a top-level coach with him at tournaments, they could perhaps help him with different strategies when brute force isn't working. But with his financial straits, can he ever find the support he needs whilst playing under the VN flag?
Nguyen Tien Minh is currently World #5 . Yes, Nguyen Tien Minh has been participating in more tournaments lately. This has allowed him to arrive at his highest ranking so far, as World #5. Congratulations to Nguyen Tien Minh !!! Processed on 02-Dec-2010, we have this Ranking List; 1. Lee Chong Wei (MAS)........80487 points 2. Peter Gade (DEN)..............68795 points 3. Taufik Hidayat (INA)...........67592 points 4. Boonsak Ponsana (THA).......53900 points 5. Nguyen Tien Minh (VIE)........51845 points .
NTM, Co Len NTM !!! . Great to find supporters of NTM from Switzerland. NTM has defeated LCW before; So it is very possible that NTM can do it again. .
Yes, he did beat LCW in 2009 Singapore Open. And hope the history is repeated again ! Though it is touch to beat LCW, but I know NTM will do his best. That is the most important thing !
LCW did not play at full gear against NTM. It could be he wanted to conserve his energy for tomorrow's final against either against TH or CL. CL has improved a lot this year and he beat both CJ (2010 world champion) and BCL at the China Open last week. I think CL will be more dangerous than TH in the final.
Its okay. LCW is one of my fav.player.i've seen a part on tv and i have to realize, that lcw was too good today.he plays vrry well and he didn't spend a lot of energy to beat ntm. But i'm very proud of ntm.he has played also very well and has never given up. Now the ms-final will be very interesting. Ohhh I LOVE BADMINTON. PS: YES, I'm a vietnamese. But I live in switzerland
