Ashaway ZyMax string is all the same construction for each respective thickness. So, ZM62 in Asia = ZM62 in the U.S., etc...
broke my 2nd black ZM62PT today. played 16 games of mixed, didn't break. first game of doubles and *snap*. Dink, got anymore? this is the best string so far, repulsion rivals ZM65, feel and control is better than ZM65.
Good info on the ZM62 PT, Panda concurs with your findings. Will have the ZM67 PT late this week, will send you some. Ashaway says the ZM67PT is supposed to be the best yet... ...we will see.
ops. i mistyped. i mean the ZM62PT gray. the black i tried stringing it. the coating felt too strange so i gave up on it.
sorry for my bluntness, whose panda? no doubt he has done a good job contributing here, i am still not sure its you or not
Haha Dink is the Panda. You know what would be nice? A black or dark purple ZM67 at 28lbs to go with my new Ultra Pros and the coming Revelations A beautiful dark blue ZM62 at 27lbs to go with my favorite Precisions A sexy crimson red ZM70 at 30lbs to go with my trusty Trinity 2v1.
thanks, at first i didn't really follow the thread accept here and there i bet yr 0.62 breaks first follows by your 0.67 then finally yr 0.70
White isn't bad. You can't go wrong with white, but it just doesn't get the same "WOW" factor that the right color string does. Quite honestly, if Ashaway comes out with a nice navy/dark blue ZyMax string, that would complement all the Panda Power rackets so far pretty well, assuming they don't go rainbow with ZyMax. Though maybe if I order enough reels, they'd do it for me. RKEP does custom colors on tennis strings as long as I buy 2 reels of it.
^^ White goes in anything, and anything goes in black (like O and AB blood, respectively). My forthcoming BG65 is orange.
I meant that I just put it on the racquet, not popped the string. Sorry, bad choice of words. I'm going to slowly up the tension thou to see if my playing style can handle the 30+ lbs.
If there's anyone who doesn't string at ridiculous tension and enjoys durability. I just finished testing ZM70 at 25lb. Compared to BG65, Zymax70 retains initial tension much better, holding fairly steady for the first 4 weeks or so, whereas BG65 will lose quite a bit of tension within the first week. After 4 weeks, It Zymax tension loss starts catching up to BG65, but I'm thinking maybe because of the fraying. String broke with so little tension that it didn't even make the "ping" sound you usually hear when strings snap. Both BG65 and ZM70 lasted me roughly 8 weeks. Both created lots of power and produced a huge "bang" when smashing (initially, before tension loss) Considering both strings are priced similarly, I would pick ZM70 as my first choice just cuz it retains tension better.
i have given up on 27lbs. i am so sick of breaking a string on every badminton session. i am back down to 24/25lbs.
I know he strings his own rackets, and let's face it, if you play with ZM62 @ 27lbs you have to string your own rackets (or have won the lottery ) if I used ZM62 @ 27lbs, then my stringer would really like me (or rather my wallet )
even when i string my own racket, there is a cost of time as well as the cost of the string. with an average longevity of just 2 or 3 sessions. ZM62 at high tension is not worth it. if it last 4 or 5 sessions at 24-25 lbs then it is getting to be worthwhile.
