    Hii Guys,
I just would like to share (maybe some other think i like to show off)
about a little modification of your badminton shoes.

Long time ago I own an SHB-100 gold which can hold only up to 8 months of wear
and probably 5months that your shoes have a hole.

Since then I dont wanna buy and expensive one because it waste of my money.
Fortunately I bought an Ultima series but it hold a little less then the SHB version.

So I meet a shoe repair guys discuss it, then heres 3 main modification and
    2additional upgrade hardware.

First the shoes is Ultima 101pro Ltd.
(so far I know, Yonex sell 3 types of shoes, SHB is the expensive or the best one,
Ultima is the middle one and World Champ is the cheapest one).

Pictures below shows its new out of the box.

Then I bring it to the shoes repair guys and wallah..
comaprison of old (I think it has been about one and a half year) and new
    [IMG]
You may not see it but the guys stich all the shoes around to add it strength.
Add a cheap leather at about your foot thumbs areas.
this is when it get olds, see how it protect from scratching the shoes
    [IMG]
And a tail at the back for carrying it.

Ok, to make it better I use an insole that have arch support and a heel cup to make it better landing

    OK, let me calculate it,
buy the shoes - USD 50
have it modificated - USD 10
    Additional products - USD 35
    Hand Carry - USD 10
Have it about twice life span - USD discount 50%
have a cool looks, handle it with style, different then others - USD priceless

PS. sorry for may bad grammer and bad english

    LOL thanks mate..
Well, that is the third shoes i modified..
I am a right handed, soo for good SHB shoes usually take 5months to make a hole on my left foot thumb area, with that cheap Ultima shoes it take 3months, but with added a skin on to it, it never make a hole only scratch on the skins..
    Glad you like it..

Great innovation, I like the tail for carrying. But to be honest, high end shoes like SHW is not purely about lasting , it's about grip, cushioning and balance. The modification you did will prevent tearing of the shoes, but cannot help on the grip and wearout of the sole. I have used high end and low end shoes before. Low end shoes tend to tear fast and wear out fast whereas high end shoes, normally will not tear, you will only know that it's time to change when the sole have worn out and there are no more grip. Cushioning to be is the most important stuff..it does not mean that high cushion like a volley ball shoes where it's high and balanace is compromise.. good cushion is , you done feel any pain in your knee after playing hard even though the shoe does not look like there are a lot of cushioning. Just my 2 cents.

Yes I agree with you, it cushion for this shoe type looks like fast to be worn out, so thats why I added a heel cup, hopefully it reduce the chance that it will worn out, about the grip also so far after a year it still grip but not as good as its in brand new state, i agree with you pall.. he he he.. also I find that the foot thumb area easy get scratch and easy to make a hole of that area, like my last SHB shoes i threw it away because the hole even the sole grip still good, but maybe because i am fat, hehehe.. Thanks fot the opinion, i really appreciate it.. glad you enjoy it too

    Thanks Mate..
