TBH was great in the first game. Average in the second and third. Mentally tired to keep long rallies. Same goes to KKK. Improvement? So far in the loudness of their shouts and showing that they want to win. You don't see KSH/YYS making many errors in a row which was why they won the rubber...
Ithanon's still a 17-yr-old teenager, maybe her mood, temperament or loss of concentration got the better of her, resulting in her impatience and self-annoyance,thereby affecting her play in game 3 when everything started to unravel for her. Frankly, much as I praise LXR, I couldn't bring myself to say she suddenly turn on the heat and supercharged herself into Wonder Woman.
At which point in the 3rd game was she injured? In that case, this match doesn't really count for me, not a clear-cut victory. Why didn't Ithanon stop playing and call the tournament doctor or at least consult her coach? Sorry, I wasn't expecting you to find out the answer. Thanks for telling me she was injured.
Just to explain,I use the terms 'Queen', 'Princess', etc as a metaphor, lest people think I'm a monarchist; I'm not, I'm for the republic - government of the people,by the people, for the people.
not really, exactly as the doctor's order, read post 21 http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/104518-2011-Hong-Kong-Open-what-if-...../page2
don't boost the 'people matter' too much , in reality most of the so-called republics abuse it ... kleptocracy - plutocracy - meritocracy - autocracy... or plutarchy ??? most use the term just to cheat on real people
That's the way,Chen Long! Go to the Final and beat whoever is there and emerge as The Dragon (no more Little).
Yes, there's no problem to claim Tai Tzu Ying and Inthanon as the 2 of the princess. But whether or not the 3rd is Li XR, will depend on Li Yong Bo. There're many young players much better than TTY and Inthanon. But they don't have a chance to show their talents. On women's singles, just name a few: besides LXR, Liu Xin ranked even higher. If we look at last year China open, Zhou Hui defeated Schenk, this year, Xue Yao defeated Tine Baun, .. and also others like Chen Xiao Jia .., they beat all non-Chinese players, lost only to the China national team members by "fixing". On the men's side, last year China occupied 7 spots in the quarterfinals. A guy from nowhere, named Zhang Sheng beat seeds Marc Zwiebler, Tien Ming Nguen.. easily. But after that, we still see Zwiebler and NTM shining sporatically on the stages, but no Zhang Sheng any more. Chinese national players, like LD, BCL, CJ, CL,.., are all selected earlier in their age. Other players, after passing their age, say 20, then have no chance to the national team any more. The only exception is Wang Xin. She's very close personal friend of Zhang Ning. After Zhang Ning became the head coach of women's singles, she promoted Wang Xin at the age of 26 directly from local club to the national team. Before that, Wang Xin had never played the internation matches yet. Now Wang Xin is the queen. Any way, who's the queen or princess from China, will be determined by LYB in general and ZN in women's singles. There're tons of players better than TTY by talents and skills.
I agree, there's no true democracy anywhere in the world yet, not even in America; perhaps the closest to it is to be found in... Better not dwell on this sensitive topic here, not the right venue or platform. Coming back to badminton, for WS tomorrow, how about LXR and LX progress to the final for a change?
I may wish to see LXR to make it for a change, her attacking style is fascinating to watch (cf. LX's one)... yet this is the year of Oly qualification, so the boss may see it differently to let the jr take over, even though just for a brief change. I guess both the jr won't hv chance tomorrow.
just enjoy whatever leftover, the TSLS Tommy well, in fact bet365 still hv the live streaming (but some deposit is required)...dunno about other sites
