I almost replied to the old N8K postings about how fragile it really was, before I realised this was an oldie
28 minutes is my generally constant speed. When I string my own racquets it might take an hour...can't help but turn on The Walking Dead, YouTube education videos or of course BWF tournaments!
i kowtow in your general direction, Master AK!! none of us are worthy in your presence!!! i not only need to look while i string, soon i might need to wear reading glasses!
First I must learn to walk then I can use my toes. IMPOSSIABLE!!!! I might try it one day though =) Stinky string job
I wish i was allowed to string a racket slower than 20 mins..or else i get my @$$ kicked by my boss..xD
lolz i actually do hv a video..but..iuno..i don't wanna create random topics on certain stringing techniques n stuff..just don't wanna start unnecessary topics about myself..=) come to vancouver i show u..LOL.. i actually hesitated before i made the post..wasn't going to..think cuz my mind got too bored n clicked it..xD
OR..kwun we can do it this way..i send u a private link thru youtube..only u watch it..n u tell the ppl here..lolz..=)
i saw it. thanks Ah_Shum for sharing. in one word: MINDBOGGLINGLYFAST!!!!! pure speed and technique, no shortcut. after i saw him weave a few crosses i ended up looking for my jaws on the floor. he weave cross like i "weave" main. it is as if the string just yield to his command. the video is a 2PTD string job. it started around ~8 mains (4 on each side) already pre-weaved. even so, i just timed the time it took him to do the cross. from first string insertion to finishing tie off was 9 mins. NINE minutes. even though the main part isn't complete, even if you add *my* modest 6 mins mains (i am sure his is faster) that already end up 15 mins. and i am sure his is faster too. so maybe 14mins? and there are no camera tricks either in case there are still doubters. the mechanics of all elements of the video looks fine, and there are also 2 person chatting along in cantonese in the background and those sounds like normal speed. this only shows that technique, practice and speed trumps everything else. we can talk about tricks here and there, but what matters is the technique and practice. i totally encourage Ah_Shum to share it here. in fact i learned a few things here and there from the video too! i am sure everyone wants to see it.
Nah. I've seen him string in person. So I know he can be pretty fast if he wanted to be. So is Ah_Shum the speed stringing king? Go Canucks Go!!!
