I think you have nailed it dieter. That is the closest you are going to get to a proper solution. To stop it getting ridiculous limit it to 12 -18 tournaments counted maybe? whatever works out having the most effect.

Remember too that these are professionals players. Give the chance, they would like to win as many titles, ranking points and prize monies that go with them if possible and not try to fake injury on purpose.

But if they are forced to play even when injured, their livelihood may end prematurely as the injury may become worse.

    is that sooooo hard?
just play in 5 premium,1 wc and another 4 ss will do.
the stupid thing is people put the cart before the horse。
oh, we have the very taxing cbsl to play
we need to fly from beijing to guangdong, from shanghai to chengdu
    oh,this is taxing.
we need to play 20 tournament a year,oh so tired.

so i hope bwf cancel all the pss/ss/gpg/gp tournament.
let every player play in their own country league will do.

then every player will never injured or walkover again.
    woohoo
    what a wonderful world.

You must learn to make your point and not give general statements with no head or tail.

    To answer in your style
    - No & Yes

we should follow suit how our mighty god of badminton do.
he play in cbsl despite annouanced 6 month off from international tournament.
this speak about the importancy and priority.
so hopefully bwf will dismiss this year:D

Is there an obligation for anyone/player/country to revolve around BWF?

Since you still don't get it, I'll make it explicit for you.

Your words: "Yeah right. Withdrawing from Korea PSS and putting them in intensive training camp.
They have a higher chance of injury during the training."

How do you know what kind of "intensive" training camp they would be in?

No need to search. You're on the assumption they're all liars and/or don't know how to take care of themselves. I'm with the opinion that they're indeed injured, and they know how to take care of themselves.

Would you be correct? If you think I'm wasting your time, please, don't bother to respond.

Badminton may lose its place in Olympics, says Taufik

    http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2013/1/16/sports/12580755&sec=sports

    Excerpt from article:-

"Taufik said the slew of retirements and withdrawals at last week’s US$1mil Korean Open, the richest badminton tournament in the world, further damaged the sport’s image."

“The situation has worsened since I started playing badminton at the age of 15. The constant retirements of players do not augur well for the game. There is talk that badminton may not make it as a sport in the 2020 Olympics. We must bear in mind that other sports are strongly lobbying to be included.

“I have just started my own centre. It caters for eight or nine-year-olds. Now, I am not sure whether they will get a chance to play in the Olympics,” added Taufik.
What irked Taufik most was that the withdrawals and retirements still occurred despite the Badminton World Federation (BWF) taking a strong stance, especially during last year’s London Olympic Games. Four women’s doubles pairs were banned for “not using one’s best efforts to win a match”. The BWF also warned their affiliates over the constant walkovers on the tour.

I have a feeling some will comment on who said all those things instead of what he said. Let's see. :D

Yup, we are all required to give explicit proof for their verification.

Anyway back to serious business, does anyone know when BWF is going to give any statement on this issue?

BWF is too busy with their elections and jostling and power-plays. They have no time just now for all these irrelevant, pesky little issues that people always blow out of proportion. To answer your Q, maybe around August 2016, is that OK with you, sir?

2016? I was hoping at least before the All England.
All the suggestions is in this thread. Maybe we should send them their next action options since they are too busy to think about this.

Whoa there, bucko! It's not the right time for this! :D:D:D

    Chances are:
    1. They'll be read (and "actioned") by (possibly) Nadzmi and his chosen ones....
    2. They'll manage to lose the e-mail, fax or paper.
    3. They'll need it translated into at least 10 languages before they will take a proper look at it.
    4. They'll tell you that you don't know what you're talking about.
    5. They'll tell you they've got it covered.
    6. At the next AGM. Promise.
