None of TBH smashes were impressive. I really wonder if this new racket can smash harder than the other ones...
If you even ask that question Yonex marketing has won already Of course the freaking racket doesn't smash harder than any other TBH has used in the last 10 years....
actually from the game, it can be seen that the koreans were cautious with lifting, TBH never really got into the right position for those full exertion smashes. he seems a little out of breath too, and KKK was literally bouncing/rolling around the court. its about time BAM splits TBH/KKK and roll in a new partner for TBH, the tbh/kkk pair is too predictable for any tactical advantage. nevertheless i'm still curious if the z-speed will be a nice update to the ns9900, that would be worthy of consideration for my personal play
Considering their previous rackets... Koo - Ti-10 yellow, NS9900, AS8DX Tan - Ti-10 yellow, NS9900, Ti-10 purple I think we can pretty much bank on extra-stiff, and infer head-light with reasonable certainty.
Watched Koo and Tan playing yesterday. Funny, despite the hype I didn't see either hit any harder than normal. There's no point marketing the promised land when clearly it cannot be delivered. That said, I can't wait to get my hands on this racket and review it. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
It looked/behaved very much like a Z-Slash to me after also watching that match. Still looks awkward, particularly in doubles play. One smash winner by TBH though looked particularly effortless yet seemingly reaching decent velocity. Perhaps a hint of the potential but still, might turn out to be another Z-Slash with limited practical use ...
To be fair, that Youtube video was called "The Challenge for YONEX"... they may have failed utterly. (Mind you, you couldn't really market it as "the racket we hoped would crack 500 km/h".) There'd be no point doing the Z-Slash again with the Z-Slash still on the books. My money is - quite literally - on head-light/even extra stiff, but the head does seem tiny!
It will be probably be (perfectly) even balanced and probably extra stiff rating yes but with a small/narrow frame (a lot more iso than the Slash of course as seen on the demo version). Seeing Koo and Tan using it is like watching a Z-Slash in defence with rather poor control (and in netplay), or maybe it was just their form Wonder if the orange approaches this ?
u guys sure these 2 fellas playing wit z speed? one of the close up in local paper shown a wide and thick frame racket kkk is playing with. does not look like a speed thingy. in fact it looklike cross breed of mp and sw.
And if you saw me using it you'd think it was a complete p... well, you get the idea. Besides, there's enough players blaming their rackets without us doing it for them!
