shouldn't zm65 be strung higher than zm62, unless you have zm65 setup for plastic and zm62 for feather

As mentioned, am trying out those two. For ZM62 @27/26lbs, what do u think is equivalent tension for ZM65.....?

hehe... i've just started to try out zm65 again, because of zm62 breaking so often...

i'd say 1-2 lbs higher for 65 relative to 62

I use the same tension for both strings. Usually restring every 3-4 weeks

question: can you tell equivalent tensions by banging your wrist on the racket and listening to the pitch? I'm sort of a musical person and I feel like that's an effective method.

i just use cleartune in ios, or carltune in android to listen to a strummed stringbed to tell me the exact frequency

Actually, it's feasible so long as the thickness of compared strings r not too far apart. Higher tension yields higher pitch, vice versa.

I string to a desired frequency. So far that determines the feel for me. Hard/soft makes a difference but if I get in the right range of frequency after adjusting for thickness then I get a usable result.

I wish I was lucky enough to know without measuring on my phone. I suppose of you are musical and know which note it is that would be handy :)

Unreliable - head shape has an influence as well, and the slightest difference in thickness already makes a difference.
Have strung a 13kg Bg65 on a Flypower Enigma and a 11,5kg Bg80 on a YY i-Slash and the Bg80 is higher in pitch...as an experienced stringer, you can take an educated guess, but thats pretty much it.

But more than a guess if you've strung both string and racquet before and know how to adjust round them. Within half a pound in my experience anyway.

Like that anecdote from the victor thread about the pro banging a racquet on her hand, deciding she liked the pitch and asked for same tension without asking what it was.

Man, I broke 2 ZM62's last night. Mishits on both (remind me never to weight-lift on days of badminton!). The string life is a bit shorter than my usual strings, which I expected. Probably going to use it again anyways, it's too good.

You're in luck actually. If you go Ashaway's facebook page, and look at the comments dated 21st, you will see that someone else has asked the same question. Ashaway are asking for peoples' favourite colour. I would like to see orange personally.

A reel of black zm62 would be a dream.

What do you guys think would be a good tension for zm65, in order for it to match zm62 @ 22x24? I'm thinking 24x26.
