all because of knowing their senior LCW's shock defeat in WC made them totally no confidence to win any match...

Vivian pays heavy price for taking risks at KL Games

PETALING JAYA: Doubles shuttler Vivian Hoo has paid a heavy price for wanting to prove a point at the KL SEA Games.

The 27-year-old is down with an abdominal muscle tear.

With that, Vivian and Woon Khe Wei are out of the next two Superseries tournaments – the Korean Open (Sept 12-17) and Japan Open (Sept 19-24).

Vivian picked up the injury during the women’s team competition before it gradually became worse during the final.

In the final tie against Thailand, Vivian-Khe Wei went down fighting 21-9, 11-21, 18-21 to Puttita Supajirakul-Sapsiree Taerattanachai in 75 minutes.

    Malaysia eventually lost 1-3.

She took painkillers to compete in the women’s doubles individual event and reached the semi-finals before losing 21-17, 20-22, 17-21 to Jongkolphan Kititharakul-Rawinda Prajongjai of Thailand.

I need at least one month to recover, so I’m out of both Superseries tournaments. Khe Wei and I have pulled out,” confirmed Vivian.

“I thought I could manage the pain but it became worse. Even the painkillers didn’t help.

“I think I finished one whole strip of painkillers in the last one week.”

So what can be expected of the MAS squad at Vietnam Open?
They have sent a lot of backup players.
Plenty of chance for Cheam June Wei, Lim Chi Wing, Chong Yee Han, Soo Teck Zhi and Seng Zoe Yeoh
    to show their goods.
Or will they blame lack of training time due to LCW?

Now watching the replay of day 2 of WC, WS between RI and Yap Rui Chen. Yap is rank 78, never heard of her. Surprised to see her participating here. Anyone knows why? Thanks.

Since the higher qualified player like Goh Jin Wei and Sonia Cheah skipped WC for SEA Games, the next ranked MAS player gets the spot - YRC.

Thanks. Just heard GC said that she is the niece of Yap Kim Hock. She also mentioned an Independent player. Not sure is she was referring to RI or YRC.

    Excerpts:

The scratch partnership of Lim Khim Wah (pic) and Yoo Yeon-seong is set to spice up the men’s doubles action at the Korean Open and Japan Open.

This is the first time that former international shuttler Khim Wah, 28, will be teaming up with 31-year-old Yeon-seong of South Korea and the spotlight will definitely be on them at the Korean Open in Seoul from Sept 12-17 and the Japan Open in Tokyo from Sept 19-24.

Likely to give other backup players like Seng Zoe Yeoh, Lim Chi Wing and others an opportunity to compete.

    Nah.
I will blame Jun Hao on this one, he screwed up and was chasing an impossible 5-16 point in the first set.
Had he been more careful, he would have win.

No one but himself to blame. He played awfully, and SGP player played better than him.
I think it is better for BAM to push LJH into the senior circuit instead of junior, though.

There are others players still to be watched: Lim Chong King, Ng Tze Yong, Chia Wei Jie, Sim Fong Hau, Tan Choong Yen.

Eprilia Mega Ayu vs Florence Saw Sin Yee 21-13, 21-0
What's she doing in the second game?
