What happened to players in Swiss Open.

All the better and expected winners are out. and lower ranked players progressed to the second round.

    1. Sairul Amar Beat Sony
    2. Nguyen Tien Minch Beat Lee Hyun Il
    3. Petr Koukal Beat Chen Jin (seems that Chen Jin was injured as he had left the second set).
    4. Dicky Beat Boonsak
    5. Anup beat Sato (This was expected to be close, But Sato had beaten him 21.15 21.17 in the Thomas Cup Qualifiers).

And After anup lost to Shon seung mo at something like 5 and 11 points, I thought Sato could beat him the same this time.

Boonsak has not been playing well lately, losing in the first rounds of AE and Swiss Open.

Well, yes and no. Upset only in seeding but Yippy is capable of beating almost anyone these days. We also knew Jun was worn out after the AE, therefore was a prime candidate for an "upset". The only person upset was me :D:D;)

Yeah, I thought his loss in AE after playing sooo well in previous tournaments might have just been because he was worn out? But this match wasn't even close!

Somehow, the upsets in Swiss Open just couldn't "shock" me like the way from All England in terms of excitement and feelings, I guess not just is hard for players to maintain their form thru out consecutive tournaments, also equally difficult for fan to stay focus and maintain high level of interest?

I agree that few major upsets in R1 except CJ retired from the game. The second time R1 loss by LHI within the past two weeks did not generate the same shock as AE 08.

I think the last part of your comments might have something to do with the live streaming. Ppl are too busy watching among 3-4 courts to make timely comments at the forum. Afterward, commenting would seem less necessary.

Perhaps the Korean Team are feeling the strain. Have been doing well the past few competitions, they need a rest.

    Malaysia BOLEH...!!!
LHI has had enough rest by bowing out in first round of AE. Looking at the score (21-9, 21-9) for his defeat in Swiss, I thought only our Mr.Yoyo could provide such an "upset". Bear in mind that his opponent is NOT a top notch player (no offence to Viet fans). Dont forget that he won KO (did he, ehh???)

However, I believe the MD and WD should rest after Swiss and not heading to Romania  (what for?)

If they cant even beat a carboard Korean pair, yesterday's defeat was expected.
