Make good use of the control of the racket (since it has real good control and def) and use it to play your game, slow the ball down like terraglow has said and well, play long and shot balls, in a random pattern and in a random direction and try different combinations like sudden drops, or smashes ect.

This way, your opponent has no means of predicting your moves. If he is able to play fast and return your smashes, change your tactic to one that is more slow paced. The Arc10 is able to do it real well. This would make him impatient and he would make mistakes if he wishes to kill you fast. further more, when you play slow, you have more time to react if your other party smashes and you can return the shots more easily.

just my 2 cents worth though =x

i try doing that .... and just get smash ... on the side line .. and i just can't return a powerful smash to the side .. that is why i always end up playing a face pace game.

my co-player just say i am totaly in cosistent ... can't play a good set of badminton game

    stress me out.

now i am totaly converted to arc saber 10 for single it does help but ...... the problem is not the racket .. is me ...

Further to phandrew's suggestion, remember that the aim in a slower pace singles game is to stretch your opponent's movements. Offensive (low) clears and fast drops to alternate corners stretches the reach the most but concentric shots like a few successive clears to the same corner stresses the movements the most. You will choose to do either one depending on the opponent's relative strength. You may also do some probing smashes to either sidelines just to move your opponent.

The key is not to rush in with any serious offensive strokes like the heavy smash until you are ahead in the rally. At the same time, introduce some deceptive shots to slow your opponent down especially when you can get to the shot early.

That'll mean that you have fast reactions and probably tonnes of stamina but your stroke accuracy needs some work. Try to make sure you can consistently clear to the deep corners. Also notice where your opponent is returning your shots from.. If he's cutting off your shots in the middle court, you'll need to lob higher and/or deeper.

It's not always possible to return smashes down the tramplines, especially if those smashes are coming down hard from mid-court. So the best defense is to make sure you are pushing the opponent to the court limits and not give them too much time. Bias your defense if you are not already doing so. A down the line smash is always steeper and faster than a cross court so you'll need to be able to reach the straight smash faster shifting your base nearer.

Lastly, the best person to talk to after losing a game is the opponent who just defeated you (IMHO). Pick a few more recent rallies that he won and discuss the specifics with him. Most opponents will be most happy to share why they won.

yeah ...I agree. Talk to your opponent who defeated you. As I m more than willing to share if somebody ask why they lose. But as you know, I also encounter some people who is quite arrogant, unwilling to share their winning point with their opponents. Think that they are the only one who keep the secret recipe hehehe......

    Arc Saber 10

    Hi baihaki,
Why u dont like this racket? Is it too light? Or is it too stiff for u? Or u dont find it good for smashing? It is a lovely racket and easy to use. Easy for clear n lob. Add abit of lead tape on the frame n u will find smashing become more powerful.;) Well, if u intend to sell or trade, I think there will be someone who will be glad to buy or trade.:p
