Besides a faster swing, another alternative (but not as important as 1st) way to boost up a bit power on 8080+ is to use thin and replusive strings, such as BG66 or BG85, I think.

Personally, I believe Woven 4A performs like a MP77, packs with a lot of power, if u like heavier racket. Worth to take a try. ;)

Woven 4 is a pretty good choice. If you're into extremely heavy hitters, there's also the Woven 11, which is the heaviest racket I've ever used. (Definately difficult to use for doubles though)

i been using sotx racket for sometimes now, and the racket tend to be better when strung with sotx string instead of yonex string. is it just me or have u ever noticed or experienced the same thing???

    Which SOTX string?

I personally am dissapointed at the performance of SOTX string (SOTX Titanium 1040 Ti-65), even on a sotx racquet.

I tried the Ti-65 and Ti-67, they both even outperformed Bg-85 in my woven 13 and 16

I've only tried the Ti-65, but here's what i think...

Given the choice between BG-65 and SOTX 1040-Ti65, I'd chose the 1040-Ti65 without hesitation. 1040-Ti65 is same price as BG-65, but 1040-Ti65 definately better performance...

1040-Ti-65 same performance group as BG-80 or BG-85, i could find reasons to rank it a tiny notch higher or a little lower depending on what kind of shot techniques you use more in game... but one of the bottom lines is that 1040-Ti-65 is always cheaper, for roughly the same overal performance as BG-80 or BG-85.

It's been mentioend before that people prefer BG-85 because of it's rougher surface which makes it easier to do slicing shots and such, but I don't use many of those techniques, so factor that into my definition of performance-- mostly I'm basing it on impact feel and repulsion power. In those respects, I'm very happy with SOTX strings.

I chose SOTX1040-Ti65 simply because it has pretty high performance at a very good ratio to price, perhaps the most 'value' ratioed string out there in my opinion. My only problem with it is that because it's not as popular as Yonex strings, the color selections are often limited.

    in the philippines, bg-85 can set you back Php420 to 450. ($1 = php55)
    I bought my ti-65 for about Php300 or 320. :)

I get both Yonex BG-65 and and SOTX 1040Ti-65 for 7$ CAD :). That's about 30% off the price of BG-80, which I used to get for about 10 CAD, and BG85, which was about 11$ CAD.

I use the Woven 8. Great Racket! But i had a hard time using it at first, it just took me a few days or just a week to get it right. Control is excellent and power is moderate. Dunno about the woven 12.

I have a Woven 8 as well, also I have the Woven 8a, perfomance wise, they are both the same, however I prefer the more crazier colours of the Woven 8 instead of the more plain darker Woven 8a

Gotta love the Woven-7, it's like a cheaper and more durable version of the Ti-10.
