Without Lee CW participation, two MAS MS progressed into last eight, will Liew Daren and Chong Wei Feng survive to last round? Chen Long and Sony Dwi Kuncoro are their opponent respectively today.

Just realized that if May (Inthanon) were to win this China Open, she only needs to beat players from only one country (China).
    R32 - Chen Xiao Jia
    R16 - Hui Xi Rui
    QF - Wang Shi Xian
SF - Wang Yi Han (most likely)
Final - Li Xue Rui (most likely)

I am rooting for May May. Go May. :)

Remember 2007 when WMC ran rampant over the CHN brigade:
    R1: Zhu Jingling (Q)
R2: Pi Hongyan (6) (well, you could consider her Chinese)
    QF: Zhu Lin (4)
    SF: Zhang Ning (2)
    F: XieXinfang (1)

Take heart little Ratchanok... then take 'em all apart. :D

The lineup against Intanon is of course unintentional but accidental, blame it on those non-CHN opponents for not being able to stop Hui Xirui and Wang Shixian and perhaps Wang Yihan, not to mention those others in the top half of the draw.

In fact, IR's R1 opponent is supposed to be Liu Xin whom I daresay would have a 50% chance of upsetting her. Anyway, I'm glad we will be treated to another WSX-IR clash in the QF today. Let's see how it goes from here. Should we, in the end, get to watch IR face-off with WSX, then WYH and finally LXR, that would be a drooling prospect, wonderful, isn't it ?

As for Chen Xiaojia and Hui Xirui, I'm happy for them to have received 'lessons' from IR for I believe those aspirants who are meant to achieve anything outstanding in future will learn much more from their defeats and failures than successes.

To be honest and realistic, if any non-CHN WS player is to win the WS trophy from the Chinese here, for the moment, it has to be Intanon R and no one else. May the best player in this tournament prevail.

Btw, the MD title I'm fairly certain won't go to China, it's still their weak link. The clear favourite is Lee/Yoo and the underdogs, to me, being the MAS Hoon/Tan, the Russians Ivanov/Sozonov, the English Acock/Ellis, the JPN Endo/Hayakawa (not in any order) and, lastly, Liu/Qiu (leaving out the KOR Kim/Kim as they are up against their formidable compatriots today).

Darren Liew retired from injury, that's the sensible thing to do, don't aggravate it, there is still a long way ahead of him.

    Cai Yun/Chai Biao booted out Liu/Qiu in a well-fought three-setter after 1 hr 3 mins of play.

Ivanov/Sozonov are only strong when they're attacking. Their flat game was brutally exposed by HTH/TWK. No wonder KKK/TBH lost to them, KKK/TBH's flat game is nonexistent nowadays cause they are so slow
