    ROUND OF 16 (03.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=C193AA46-BBB2-48FD-BA7A-3B6E134A98BF

    *Match Highlights :
    - Hsu Jen Hao (TPE) v Chong Wei Feng (MAS)
    - Liew Daren (MAS) v Boonsak Ponsana (THA)
    - Yeo Jia Min (SIN) v Aya Ohori (JPN)
    - Tee Jing Yi (MAS) v Pornpawee Chochuwong (THA)
    - Fitriani (INA) v Busanan Ongbamrungpham (THA)
    - Goh Jin Wei (MAS) v Porntip Buranaprasertsuk (THA)
    - Widianto/Widjaja (INA) v Tan KM/Lai PJ (MAS)

    Almost all tournament top-seeds were already ousted, one WD Puttita/Sapsiree manage to last sixteen. A setback by one of INA future MS, Ihsan Maulana Mustofa that cruised into finale last year, lost to Lee Hyun Il. Local hopeful Tanongsak is predicted to eliminate Indonesian newcomer Panji Akbar Maulana who stunned more favoured Khosit Phetpradab while the veteran Boonsak Ponsana will be challenged by former FRA Superseries winner Liew Daren.

    Three home frontrunners passed opening round comfortably except Jindapol who needed extra effort to down Sayaka Takahashi. Both Busanan and Porntip have pretty tough rival next, Indonesian young talent Fitriani and Malaysian next big thing Goh Jin Wei respectively. In men's doubles department, an upset was created by Japanese duo Inoue/Kaneko to stun former world number one and 2015 runner-up Koo KK/Tan BH in three games. Mixed doubles saw number one seed Isara/Amitrapai alongside with two Indonesian seeded pairs tumbled yesterday, Prasetya/Saufika and Subaktiar/Dili lost to the underdogs.

    Nope, their upcoming tournament is French Open, end of this month.

    QUARTERFINALS (03.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=C193AA46-BBB2-48FD-BA7A-3B6E134A98BF

    Host Thailand has assured 1 MS semifinal slot, local favourite Tanongsak will meet his teammate Suppanyu Avihingsanon who continues excellent run to dispose another seeded player, Kazumasa Sakai yesterday. Chinese Taipei also has two representatives in last eight, Hsu Jen Hao will find Japanese hurdle Kenta Nishimoto while veteran Hsueh Hsuan Yi will meet second seed Sony Dwi Kuncoro. HKG promising youngster Lee Cheuk Yiu who defeated TPE talent Wang Tzu Wei in last sixteen has former French Open champion Liew Daren.

    Malaysian WS players produce positive outcome so far, Tee Jing Yi battled hard to down dangerous home player Pornpawee Chochuwong, followed by her two younger compatriots, Ho Yen Mei and reigning world junior champion Goh Jin Wei to eliminate more favoured opponent, Yui Hahsimoto and Porntip Buranaprasertsuk respectively. Thailand hope in this category will rely on Nitchaon Jindapol and Busanan Ongbamrungphan to book semifinal ticket. Recent INA Masters winner Busanan outclassed Indonesian young talent Fitriani last night and will take on last year beaten finalist, Liang Xiaoyu.

    Yeo Jia Min failed to put up a good fight with Aya Ohori. I've no doubt both girls have improved their game, possibly even more for Aya.

    Aya Ohori, Kenta Nishimoto and Goh Jin Wei march on, the youngsters continue to make their presence felt in another tournament. I think that it's going to be a trend where more and more older and better established players get pushed aside by the younger up-and-comers.

    However, one of the old generation stalwarts, Sony Dwi Kuncoro , seems to be the exception here so far. In the semifinals, he'll be up against another youngster, HKSAR's 20-yr-old Lee Cheuk Yiu.

    SEMIFINALS (01.00pm) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...93AA46-BBB2-48FD-BA7A-3B6E134A98BF&d=20161008

    A healthy draw for the most competitive category, local favourite Tanongsak will face stamina test against resilient player, the 22 years old Kenta Nishimoto is expected to rise soon and fill leading role as Japan looks struggling to seek reliable player to replace Kento Momota. Former Indonesia number one Sony Dwi Kuncoro will be challenged by the on-fire Lee Cheuk Yiu, this HKG young talent defeated Kuncoro in INA Masters second round recently.

    Two home title contenders will meet complicated opponent, Busanan Ongbamrungphan gets Malaysian starlet, Goh Jin Wei, a rematch of INA Masters final last month when the Thai player outwitted Goh in straight-sets. Busanan was troubled by 2015 edition runner-up, Liang Xioyu in last eight, lost first game narrowly. Nitchaon Jindapol finds stern test that may thwart her to book final spot, the well-improved Aya Ohori who showed impressive outcome being semifinalist in Japan Superseries couple of weeks ago.

    Another chance for Indonesia camp to book final ticket relies on two MD pairs, Angriawan/Saputro and promising combinations Alfian/Ardianto, they will uo against Malaysian Lim/Ong and Japanese Inoue/Kaneko respectively. It's JPN-THA affairs in WD as top-two seeds home aces may meet in finale. Thailand also has two representatives in mixed doubles discipline, best hopeful second seed Dechapol/Taerattanachai have tough semifinal rival today, Tan KM/Lai PJ.

    LIVE TV (Court 1, 01.00pm) :

    1) Puttita Supajirakul/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (THA) v Miki Kashihara/Miyuki Kato (JPN)
    2) Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk (THA) v Kenta Nishimoto (JPN)
    3) Lim Khim Wah/Ong Jian Guo (MAS) v Berry Angriawan/Rian Agung Saputro (INA)
    4) Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing (MAS) v Puavaranukroh Dechapol/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (THA)
    5) Busanan Ongbamrungphan (THA) v Goh Jin Wei (MAS)

    Tanongsak has used up quite a bit of his energy smashing so hard time and again Kenta Nishimoto has closed the gap to just 1 point, he's a player to watch.

    Tanongsak finally converts, 21-19. Kenta who isn't all and big plays a very good game. Tanongsak had better timed his attacks well or he's going to tire soon.

    Kenta senses that Tanongsak is tiring, unwilling to lift but still want to force him to lift by playing tight nets, and pounces at the net instead.

    The match for both WD have just ended. The match at court 1 is won by Putita Supajirakul / Sapsiree / Taeratanachai. Then the match at court 2 is won by Mayu Matsumoto / Wakana Nagahara. So for tomorrow finals it will be a Japanese WD versus Thailand WD.
