She can beat both of them.Wang Yihan would have been the worst possible QF opponent for her.I would also not like to see Ratchanok or Okuhara as her QF obstacle.

A written rule? No, but on current form? Odds on :)

However having now experienced playing in SE Asia I've realised it's a very different game when playing in hot countries with slower shuttles. The shuttle behaves entirely differently. This might be why a power shot player like Zhao Jian Hua was so much more successful playing in the cooler climates. You can smash until you are blue in the face in SE Asia and get nowhere. Unless you place your shots well you're not going to get the points.

Yes. She can beat. Not 100% guarantee. she has 50% chance against Sindhu and Li xuerui. Both holds equal h2h record against Shixian. 4-4 vs sindhu and 6-6 vs Li xuerui.

My prediction for the final is CL versus LCW, with VA at an outside chance.

I agree with the prediction. Maybe Momota has an outside chance also.

I'm really surprised that Bao Yixin isn't playing the WD anymore.

    And where is Wang Xiaoli?

Wang Xiaoli has retired, I think the reason was shoulder injury.

As usual, WS seems the most interesting draw to me.

I really wouldn't write off PV Sindhu's chances, i expect her game to come on a lot this year. I do not expect Marin to retain her title here.

In the WS category the players to watch out would be Nozomi Okuhara, PV Sindhu & R Intanon.. these are promising and players for the future. Marin in my opinion has already reached her peak and it would take a lot of effort to defend her title. Saina coming back from an injury is bound to be rusted and the aging Chinese players might be out beaten.

For me, R32 interesting matches are:-
    1) WS: Inthanon vs Sun Yu
    2) MD: Endo/Hayakawa vs Ko SH/Shin BC
    3) XD: Chan PS/Goh LY vs Ko SH/Kim HN

A lucky, favourable draw for LCW in the bottom half avoiding Chen Long, Lin Dan, Viktor Axelsen, Jan O Jorgensen, all in the top half.

Yes, Intanon Ratchanok vs Sun Yu in R1 is a pretty tough opener, neither player would relish meeting each other so early on, I believe.

At the Thai Masters WS Final last week, Sun Yu failed to capitalize on her chances in the decider despite leading by as much as 4 points at one stage. Let's see if she can avenge that defeat here. The stakes are high leading to the Rio Olympics and it's one of the final few tournaments counting, an early exit for either one would be dreaded, the more so for Intanon.

CM is really talented and she won as many titles as Chen long last year and also won the best player award in Dubai. Considering her background , she did unthinkable. Still Spain does not have any other player of her calibre in either genders. Kudos to her. Though i don't like her oncourt behaviour, i bow to her talent.
