SEMIFINAL ORDER OF PLAY (12.00pm local time, 2 court) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...B43E80-2B5D-4B28-9B14-8133B6F6FDA4&d=20160924

    *Men's Singles Semifinals
    - Lee Chong Wei (MAS) v Marc Zwiebler (GER)
    - Jan O Jorgensen (DEN) v Son Wan Ho (KOR)

The overwhelming favourite Lee gave Chinese youngster Shi Yuqi a lesson, lop-sided tie with identical scoreline 21-12 / 21-12, very easy route until semifinal for three-time Olympic silver medalist and high possibility he will book third finals in Superseries tour this season after MAS and INA Premier. 32 years old Marc Zwiebler has an uphill task to topple world number one as he never won in previous 12 meetings. The German fighter overcame Indian hopeful Srikanth Kidambi in marathon rubber games that ended with 21-19 at final game. On the opposite draw, Son Wan Ho played brilliantly to frustrate Viktor Axelsen and he will contest another Danish shuttler, Jorgensen who ended Thai qualifier Phetpradab journey here.

    *Women's Singles Semfinals
    - Aya Ohori (JPN) v He Bingjiao (CHN)
    - Sun Yu (CHN) v Akane Yamaguchi (JPN)

Home teen wonder Akane Yamaguchi performed aggressively and did well to win over older teammate Nozomi Okuhara for the first time of 7 meetings, she will take on Chinese Sun Yu who's expected to raise her standard as China number one soon in the retirement of her two seniors and Li Xuerui long absence. Former Asian Junior Champion Aya Ohori secures first ever semifinal in Superseries tournament, thanks to Carolina Marin and P.V. Sindhu withdrawals, this pretty young lady has Chinese promising star He Bingjiao in final four. The left-handed He battled hard to eliminate 2013 World Champion Ratchanok Intanon in physically demanding clash, 22-20 / 14-21 / 24-22.

    *Men's Doubles Semifinals
    - Kim Gi Jung/Ko Sung Hyun (KOR) v Takeshi Kamura/Keigo Sonoda (JPN)
    - Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen (CHN) v Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (INA)

Korean new scratch pair Kim/Ko are favoured to grab final spot considering their result and experience to appear regularly at top-level tournaments despite this is the first tournament Ko Sung Hyun and Kim Gi Jung play together as a pair. The energetic Kamura/Sonoda dropped first game before took next two games to down Saeki/Taohata in exactly 1 hour match. Previously China youngsters Li/Liu shocked Danish vast experienced Boe/Mogensen in straight sets, another top pair will waiting him at last four, reigning world champion Ahsan/Setiawan.

    * Women's Doubles Semifinals
    - Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (JPN) v Shiho Tanaka/Koharu Yonemoto (JPN)
    - Luo Ying/Luo Yu (CHN) v Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (DEN)

The Olympic Champion showed their class to outplay Thailand pair Kititharakul/Prajongjai with solid defense, good interception and changing the pace. All Japanese semifinal as Matsutomo/Takahashi will face their teammate Tanaka/Yonemoto who defeated Thai combination Supajirakul/Taerattanachai. Malaysian pair wasted golden opportunity at second game to snatch semifinal berth, Pedersen/Juhl showed good mental strength after experienced painful defeat in Rio Gold medal match. The Dane combo has challenging opponent next, Luo twin sisters who defeated them in Olympic Games group-stage match last month.

    *Mixed Doubles Semifinals
    - Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na (KOR) v Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying (MAS)
    - Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong (CHN) v Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen (CHN)

It's quite not far from semfinal scenario, top-seed Ko/Kim will take on the on-fire Rio silver medalist Chan/Goh, this should be interesting showdown to follow as their last two meetings ended with rubber games and needed extra point. It's too bad the local organizer doesn't arrange this tie on TV court tomorrow. All China affairs at the lower half of draw, Lu/Huang disposed defending champion Fischer/Pedersen while Zheng/Chen had difficulty and were pushed into the limit by Thailand duo Dechapol/Taerattanachai.

    LIVE TV (Court 1, 12.00pm) :
    1) Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (JPN) v Shiho Tanaka/Koharu Yonemoto (JPN)
    2) Lee Chong Wei (MAS) v Marc Zwiebler (GER)
    3) Sun Yu (CHN) v Akane Yamaguchi (JPN)
    4) Luo Ying/Luo Yu (CHN) v Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (DEN)
    5) Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen (CHN) v Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (INA)

Shame that Chan/Goh vs Ko/Kim is not on TV Court. At least, we've got Chong Wei on TV.

I expect Jorgensen to beat Son Wan Ho as he is in the best form since Rio.

HBJ, Akane, LCW, JOJ are the likely winners today. Glad the betting site is back working beautifully.

I think Marc Zwiebler is going to suffer the same fate as WZM, a total shutout, 12-0 to 13-0.

I think if Sun Yu covers her deep backhand (left side) corner well, she should prevail over Akane.

Marc, 32 years old, LCW, 33, so no age advantage but Marc has a long grueling match against Srikanth yesterday which may affect an older athlete in his 30s more than a young gun in his 20s.

If you can get a lot back, like what MZ just did, the likelihood of a LCW error is little higher - he just smashed wide.

Whenever LCW is back to base position, smashing against him from the backline seldom, almost never, work.

LCW is using this match as a training session. Trying out new deceptive shots.

HBJ's intensity is uneven, sometimes a bit casual, sometimes forceful.

That's He Bingjiao for you, just when she appears down and out in G2, she comes charging back like a tigress , turns on her opponent ,pounces on her and gobble her up.
