anyone else seen it? i have seen ok speed. not speedy, but not slow either

not sure what we can do about it though, we are sharing the machine with many other sites and we won't be able to afford moving to a faster server.

When you record your observations did you remember how many people wer eon the boards? It's usually a little laggy when there's a number of people on.

not that many people were on. It was due to the SQL slammer worm slowing down the internet. Unless you have redundent servers ($$$), a site will be very vulnerable to these things.

I think another reason is sometimes the strain on the server at times. If you ran a massive search (Something with 1-2 characters). Searching "bad" will give me 1.6K of topics and at the time the pages seem to load alot slower.

i think speed differences are more noticeable if you have a low latency high bandwidth connection. Dialups are high latency and low bandwidth.

Don't care about the speed as long as it's working.

I appreciate the service anyway since it's a free website.

i've surfed BF on my old 28.8 modem and it's still very fast. Hard to notice the difference unless you pay attention to it.

I'm still using my 28.8... i'm using it right now actually. So you are not alone. :)
BF is probably one of the most bandwidth-friendly sites around.

Yeah, actually I consider it very fast already, I only have to wait a few secs compared to others...
