I disagree. Chen Long played well and very patient. But as spectator it wasn't a nice match.
The MS final was much better played by CL. Patient like in SF but more aggressive.

All these deceptions and trick shots are the things which makes badminton wonderful.

IMHO, to be among the very top, you got to have speed, power, accuracy and deception. The Super Three, namely, Lin Dan, Lee CW, and Chen Long, have them in large measure. I think Lee CW is more deception than power. For Chen Long he is more power than deception. Lin Dan is quite balanced in all four aspects. Notice that I'm not comparing the three with each other but with their own individual inclinations.

yes, this is all relativeness..... it also differs among players by country...

if you compare chen long with players like P Kashyap... JOJ, AJ jayaram or rajiv ouseph.... etc... chen long is considered to have more deception than power than other players too....

No, no. I think John Wayne is the best badminton player :D
Seriously I can't take you serious. I'm still wondering why I replied to your posting since I know your erm... "extraordinary" style of talking :)

Oh, why should I be jealous? I'm happy to see CL achieved Gold in AE2013.
You rather should calm down and learn to deal with criticism to your idols.

ok fine.... regarding your criticism earlier... as a 'SPECTATOR' and badminton fan myself... i would like to see more physical sturdiness in players rather than too much unneceessary trickery and creativity among players with weaker physical attributes.... especially in the MENS singles categories... where i think players should play more like men instead of ladies all the time....

I don't quite understand what you mean by male attribute here...perhaps you have your own reason to like them so much...
but anyway, CL's style of play is more patient and tactical then powerful. He has a good smash but don't use it too often. LCW is much more agressive, and JOJ also for that matter (but not as precise in this last case). As for LD, before 2009 he was at least twice as macho on court then CL that plays like a good mummy's boy in comparison.

Interesting to note since the Olympics, apart form the Denmark Open where he 'lost' to his teammate and the Korea Open where he withdrew, he's won every tournament he's entered (China Masters, China Open, Hong Kong Open, SS Finals, German Open, All England). That is impressive.

I predict that Chen Long will move to the top of the world ranking in a few week's time ( 6 weeks to be precise), irrespective that if LCW to win the Australia and India Open or not.

Friend, just curious, what makes you so confident? What does Chen Long need to do to overtake LCW ?

For now, I only know he's registered to play in the BAC but not the AUS, NZ and IND Opens.Win the BAC? Does he have to outperform LCW in the coming WC but that will be more than six weeks away?

For sure, this ongoing AUS GPG title is LCW's, a walk in the park for him;furthermore,he's playing in the IND SS and clear favourite to win it in the absence of Chen Long and Lin Dan.

based on CL to win the BAC, LCW to win the Australia and India.
And more importantly, LCW to skip the MAS GP, that's all needed.

just realised that I'd made a blunder, BAC only carries 7000 points for the winner.
LCW will be safe for awhile, if he wins the India Open.

Ah,that's what I thought for BAC is equivalent to a GPG level and offers the same number of points, thanks.

    Here is the revised prediction.

Assuming CL to win the BAC as top seed then LCW needed to get into the India final to stay ahead. If LCW to skip MAS GP as many expected then only if he won the India will keep him ahead of the ranking after the MAS GP.

After that is the Sudirman Cup in May, irrespective of LCW won the India of not CL will overtake LCW as world No 1.

So, the key is CL to win the BAC and the world No 1 will be his.
INA and Singapore Open in June will be the chance for LCW to claim it back.
