Drop Weight Machine

    Hello, I recently acquired a used drop weight stringing machine which I believe is Eagnas Flex 740. Since it didn't come with manual, I have a question on setting the tension. Which side of the weight refers to the correct tension mark on the tension rod? That is, the side on the open end of the rod or the other side should rest on the tension mark? Can any Eagnas machine owner helps?

    I use 'the other side" on mine.

    i would calibrate it with a digital scale just to be sure ;)

    Hi Badder and Distanc3, I use a digital scale to check the calibration of the drop weight. The first pic is the setup. I set the right side of the weight to the 20 lbs mark. The 2nd pic is the scale reading. The 3rd pic is the right side of the weight which is set at the 20lb mark, the number is masked by the weight. The last pic is the left side of the weight which is at the 17lb mark, again, the number is masked by the weight.

    I think this test can confirm that the right side of the weight, which is at the open end of the tension rod, should be set at the desired tension.

    But according the manual I have, the left side is the tension mark. I normally set to 26lb, and finished string does feel like 26lb. If as show in the picture, when left side is 26lb, the right side is almost 29lb that is unlikely true.

    yup, my manual also similar to badder said.

    Yes, that's a three-lb difference. If my test setup/procedure is correct, you are actually stringing at 29lbs?!:confused::eek: Perhaps I should check this scale or borrow another one and try again.
