So I was reading an article about the women's epee competition about clock failure and how the governing body of Epee did not have a rule on what happens when the clock gets stuck.

How does one not have a ruling beforehand on what to do in that situation? I felt that she was cheated out of a possible gold medal. A malfunctioning clock with 1 second left? Seems kinda fishy...

Clock mal-functioning happens so far in basketball games. They just reset and restarted the clock. They should have reset the clock back to 1 second and replay also.
