I have plantar fasciitis for 13 years. Sounds long? Certainly, and the doctor was shocked when i told him so. Recently things have gotten so bad that after a long day at work, I would have pain in the heel. Coupling it with other injuries such as stress fracture, Achilles tendinitis, sematoiditis, you will understand what i'm going through.
for the severity of the pain, i would rate it as 7-8 out of 10. just to let you have an idea of the comparison, 10 would roughly be the pain i felt when the anaesthetic wore off when i have a ACL recon, where there is a drill hole through my leg bone. I have problems taking the first step in the morning, walking after resting for 15mins, etc.

Just want to find out how effective is ESWT?

I suffered from plantar fascitis for a long time but i have been pain free for quite a while now.I didn't do any ESWT and so can't comment on it's effectiveness but i had three cortisone injections in my heel and also wore silicon insoles as cushionning to protect the heel .I also read about the benefit of wearing a Strasburg sock at nightime and i send you the link to the website so that you can have a look for yourself.I was going to buy one but the pain went away and i didn't need to order

    Good luck

    After reading this thread ...

I think I have this problem too. It is worst when I get up the next morning after playing either football or badminton. And coupled with my right ankle which has never been right after I sprained it severely 4 years ago, it is getting cumbersome limping from my bed to the bathroom. The nagging pain will go away after 10-15 minutes.

Since I am going to be on leave next week, I am going to see a specialist at KL Sports Medicine Centre to sort this out once and for all.
