So my left hip started hurting when i squat, lunge.(when I'm trying pushing up).. also it crack when i lift my foot up to the side. Looking from where it hurts and what i do when it hurts, my trainer is guessing that i may have FAI or some other kind of impingement. But he think i probably have FAI since I'm only 18 and i have most of the symptoms. Im going to the doctor next week and hoping they are going to get me an x-ray. Just wanting to see anyone have FAI before or what kind of hip problem am i having?
    Thanks!!

A physio would give a good idea looking at range of movement of the joint.

Any good doctor will consider a list of possibilities first depending on the history and examination. I don't think it will do harm to see a physio as well. Don't get fixated on FAI at this early stage.
