Are you kidding? Indonesia will never play Taufik as second singles because the team formation is based on ranking. So, unless Sony rises up the ranking tables before the Thomas Cup final, its nearly impossible to see them fielding Sony as first singles.

Team Indonesia is really having a hard time finding a good singles player. But that's partly due to their own unwillingness to field the young players in overseas tournaments. Chen Jin's meteoric rise is one further testament that no matter how much trainings one have, it's important to have the match experience against top pairs. Chen Jin is used to losing in the early rounds. But once his moments come, eg: in Denmark Open and China Open, he really shows he's a star for the future. Unfortunately for Team Indonesia's case, Simon doesn't even come close.....what a pity.....

another typical example of how badminton is not like math ...

"A" might beat "B" with no problems but will have hard time with "C" while B can beat "C" easily with no problems.

it all depends on the style of playing and how good you can look through your opponent.

peter gade might not have beaten lin dan but the last encounter was a really close encounter and could of gone either way.

it is just like wildstone said, depends on the style of your opponent and how that suits your game.

Ch struggles against gade because Gade is attacking and accurate so gives little chance to CH.

LD is not really suited to CH game as he is very accurate and Attacking like gade, but CH is very very fit and LD likes to rally and defend too much, and not take control of the game. LD stamina also not as good as CH.

CH is getting better with age. I keep saying this over again, but when CH more patient not smash smash all the time, he is almost a complete player (just needs to improve his defence.)

Maybe Gao ling is a good influence on Him. He is a tremendous athlete with near perfect technique and should be able to play for many more years (longer than LD IMHO)

IF CH reaches Final in AE2006, it will be his 5th Final appearance in 6 years! a tremendous record, maybe only Hartono can match it.

I meant Only hartono, can beat it, not match it. Sorry.

CH can only dream of reaching Hartonos' record at the AE.

Though Hartono got many AE titles, there were no Chinese playing, so those titles were not as difficult as today. Many people thought that Hou JiaChang and Tang Xianhu were better than Hartono. Are there any head 2 head records available between Hartono with Hou and Tang?

Try a search for this query. There are many threads comparing these players

(Only a premptive post, not in any way malicious)Remember the title of the thread is German open. I deviated to look forward to AE (sorry Kwun!), and now we are in danger of starting a new topic completely unrelated.
