mine last arround 3 weeks...but i always put a new grips on my racquets before a tournament even if the grips on my racquets are still ok
I'm toying with an idea that has been on my mind for a few days now. I have been frustrated that my grips do not usually last long, probably after 10 games, the tackiness starts to wears off. I spent quite a lot on grips so I am in search of a better solution. Has anyone tried winding elastic rubber bands in place of the commercial synthetic grips? I figured that natural rubber would give a low cost solution for an equally effective grip. I am going to try this out tomorrow to find out.
madness. i have a karakal towel grip, i used to play a couple hours a week. never changed it since i put it on.. lol.. i would probably change mine every year at most..
Wouldn't the towel grip be soaked with sweat and then harden as it dries? Then it'll become rough....how to use?
5 months. average 2 times per week. rubber grip and actually i felt i kept it longer than i should but i didn't want to waste money
I got my middle finger cut twice because of this :crying: (stupid me ) I hate it when my grips goes hard + rough! :crying:
Using a Yonex grip that has lasted me for quite a few months already. Play twice a week or so...around 6 hours a week.
I would change my grip every month and a half or until it's dirty or lost it's tackiness, which ever comes first. I play about 3 times a week, 2 hours per session. I ususally buy the 30 pack Wilson Pro Overgrip so if I wanted to, I could regrip my racket once every month for 2 years and 6 months with the 30 pack of overgrips But that doesn't happen because I own 3 rackets
finally did it..ordered 3 30-packs wilson pro, got them in the mail... finally a grip that still feels 'usable' after the tack wears off (Wilson X-tack, babolat syntec, and yy ex-102 all don't play well after initial atck is lost..for me) playign 15 hours a week, lasting me 2 weeks (rotatign between them)
What was water doing in your grip? You left it outside or something? Anyways, mine usually last a month or two, sometimes longer.
me, when the grip starts to slip when i swing my racket and my control (eg. down the line smash) gets really off usually around 3-4 weeks. I'm looking for a better solution than yonex supergrap.. it's costing me too much
SWC_Ant: Have you consider getting the 30pack roll of Yonex Supergrap? I seen it around for $30USD which comes out to $1USD per pack. If you shop around, you can probably find it cheaper. Also, if you want to try something new, there are also 30pack rolls of Wilson Pro Overgrip and Gamma Supreme for around the same price. Those two overgrips I mentioned(Wilson & Gamma) has good reviews based on "Dinker Dan's (S4MadMan's) Over Grip Review" edit: 30pack rolls of Yonex Supergrap, Wilson Pro Overgrip, and Gamma Supreme can be found at www.tenniswarehouse.com
thanks for the tip 30 pack grip is rare around here, but I'm going to try some other brand grip and if those come in 30 packs (which I'd probably have to order somewhere) I might do that. The only problem with ordering a 30 pack supergrap is that it's only white, and I like to switch colors every time =P
I agree. It's nice to have a variety of colors. I seen a racket that had a two-tone color grip. I believe the color was white and purple. It looked very unique
I saw a white/hot pink striped grip by Forza. it made my frd's racket look like a lollypop it costed like $4.50 CAD for one though, so I didn't get any yet
Just changed all my playing gear to Finnex lately recommended by a friend. Was using Yonex previously. Finnex has exceeded my expectation as the feel of the rackets are on par with YY rackets if not better. Currently using the Super soft Finnex grips. Great feel and good tackiness. As I am a sweaty player, grips only last a month due to the smell. Grip does not lose its tackiness though. I play 3 to 4 times weekly.
I just switch to Prince Microtac Overgrip and I'm loving it so far. They are fairly cheap too. 10$ for 12 grips. =)
