Anggun Nugroho is replacing Simon Archer (Clark's regular partner), I don't know how this happened!
They are not representing any country, they're just an INA/ENG pair...

Malaysian players reigns in MS so far, five players went through to the last sixteen. There will be a number of appealing matches tomorrow. It will be Malaysia vs China in three matches , let's see who will dominate.

    Wong CH vs Chen Yu
    Roslin Hashim vs Chen Hong
    Lee TS vs Lin Dan

Lee CW and Hafiz won convincingly today, Lee CW should have no problem beating Bjoern Joppien while a tough match is awaiting Hafiz, taking on Kenneth Janasson.

The rest of the encounters should see the higher ranked players to advance, namely Peter Gade ( vs Lee CH (Kor)), Taufit Hidayat ( vs Kuan BH), Bao CL (vs N Ng Wei).

Although Malaysians occupy 6 out of 16 in third round, I am doubt if we could get more than 3 players go into 1/8. I hope LCW, Hafiz, WCH will live up to their seeding. Roslin is difficult against Chen Hong, but not impossible. LTS and KBH have miles to go if they want any upsets.

Too bad YKB did'n't upset KJ after two tight games and Sairul retired after first game.

It is possible (though rare) to mix countries in any individual events, except the olympics.
I just don't know how they had the idea of replacing Archer with Nugroho however...

While Chinese and Korean junior players from WJC 2004 have started to make impact on senior level, Malaysian junior players are still in the backup team and kept for Satellit tournaments only! I really hope they should let our WJ MD champion be in senior team. This would be very much helpful for them as they can train with higher skills seniors and play in more competitive matches. We don't want another ChanCM in Malaysia team then.

malaysian MS looking strong (so far)

6 malaysians in the 3rd round......... and featuring in 6 out of the 8 matches to be contested tomorrow :)

    all look like juicy matches.... the esp extra juicy one's seem to be;

hafiz vs KJ........ the thai open finals rematch you have been asking for!

roslin vs chen hong.......... anything with one of these two makes a good match! will having two in a the same match make it great? tune in tomorrow for the results! :D ;)

Kuan Beng Hong vs Taufik should garner much interest. how will misbun's latest apprentice (@ malaysian hariyanto arbi) fare againts the current indonesian man to beat: Taufik Hidayat!

should be a good day for badminton tomorrow

to tell you the truth..... i personaly havent seen his matches (much?)

this is just what the local papers have been calling him.... "that his play was similar to hariyanto...." or something like that. based on somebody's observation and comment. one of the coaches or some1 'quote-able' in the malaysian badminton scene i think.

on a side note......... KBH has said publicly in the local papers that 'misbun instill's lots of confidence and self belief' in his own abilities.......... that and being made to 'wipe the training floor' (ie training is good and hard :D )

    cheers
