Not sure, but they do rotate...
Skill wise GVS in my opinion is way above CPS.
But chemistry might be a problem. But I think this partnership is somewhat better than CPS/LKW purely because of skill-wise, and GVS doesn't play mixed. They don't actually click that well.

GVS is more outspoken, since last time. When he didnt feel comfortable partnering Lin Woon Fui who is many years more senior he told Rexy about it. Then he got to partner a player his closer to his age. I think he would like to get back with Ah Teo. GVS has the boldness and mentality to make it big. Skills & talent, not as good as the top young pairs from other countries. GVS was not WJC winner, he has had to work hard & fight his way up.
LKW, to me, is XD specialist since his WJC days but he seems to prefer MD.

Not sure whether Teo KS would be the best choice for him, actually. I find that combination a bit too lacking in speed. MHC/TKS probably suffers from this problem now since both of them are not very mobile on court. LKW is much faster around court.

What if GVS pairing up CPS? Any comment? Would there be any chances reaching the top?

Not likely, CPS is not power player or net specialist. Can work better than GVS with LKW -CPS has better mental strength, better in tactical due to playing top level XD. But not top of the heap. GVS with Teo is better

Most important is still chemistry though. No good getting two players who excel at everything but just doesn't seem to click well.

No Goh for No. 2 pair

    By RAJES PAUL

KUALA LUMPUR: Men’s doubles shuttlers Goh V Shem-Lim Khim Wah have been dropped from the squad to the China Masters and Japan Open after the former commented on the incompatibility of their partnership.
Yesterday, V Shem and Khim Wah did not join their team-mates for the trip to China. The China Masters begins on Wednesday at Changzhou. The duo will also not be going for the Japan Open from Sept 13-18.
The 21-year-old V Shem said that coach Tan Kim Her told him it was pointless to send them for the tournaments if they were not comfortable playing together.

“My partnership with Khim Wah will be split and that is why our names have been withdrawn from the China Masters and Japan Open,” said V Shem.
“I am not sure who will partner me but I will wait for the coaches to decide. I have no preference and will leave it to the coaches to choose another partner for me.”
The world No. 24 ranked V Shem and Khim Wah are currently the country’s second pair after Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong.
Over the last one and a half years, they did well by beating big names like Indonesia’s Mohd Ahsan-Bona Septano and Taiwan’s Fang Chieh-min-Lee Sheng-mu but they were unable to break into top 20 ranking because of their inconsistent performances.
The new partners for V Shem and Khim Wah will be decided after the status of Kien Keat-Boon Heong is made clear.
The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) had discussed at length about Kien Keat-Boon Heong’s future at the coaching and training committee meeting on Saturday but they could not decide whether to split or keep them together.
The outcome will be known after the BAM meet up with Kien Keat-Boon Heong in the next few days.
If they are broken up, V Shem may partner Boon Heong while Kien Keat will probably team up with Khim Wah or other youngsters in the team.
Meanwhile, without V Shem-Khim Wah at the China Masters, Malaysia will be banking on several back-up pairs – Hoon Thien How-Tan Wee Kiong, Chan Peng Soon-Ong Jian Guo and former internationals Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif-Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari and Gan Teik Chai-Ong Soon Hock, to keep the flag flying high. Thien How-Wee Kiong are expected to take on top seeds Hiroyuki Endo-Kenichi Hayakawa of Japan in the quarter-finals and have a chance to feature in their first semi-finals of a Super Series event.
If all goes well for Peng Soon-Jian Guo in the early rounds, they may take on either China’s scratch pair Guo Zhengdong-Xu Chen or second seeds Hong Wei-Shen Ye in the last eight.
In the men’s singles, back-up shuttlers Chan Kwong Beng, Mohd Hafiz Hashim, Liew Daren and Chong Wei Feng will carry Malaysia’s hopes but they are not expected to go far.
Kwong Beng, who had voiced his intention to train under Hendrawan after his failure to make any headway under Rashid Sidek for the last one and a half years, will begin his campaign as the top seed in the qualifying tournament.
Hafiz may meet top seed Chen Long of China in the last eight while Daren and Wei Feng have tricky first round matches.
Daren plays India’s Sourabh Varma while Wei Feng has a first round battle against Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand.
Two top players – Lin Dan of China and Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia – have chosen to skip the tournament.
They will resume their rivalry at the Japan Open. In their last meeting at the London Olympic Games, Lin Dan defeated Chong Wei for the gold medal.

BAM's main saving grace other than LCW, is of course still KKK/TBH whether you like to admit it. They have been part of BAM's trump card since donkey years. The fact is they are afraid to lose them, as KKK/TBH have mentioned they will jump ship if they are forced to split up. So BAM, having neither other remaining powerful MD pairs in their arsenal weaponry, nor do they know if KKK/TBH can still polish BAM's lessening glimmer of the association's name, are scratching their heads at wit's ends like Boe, Moe and Joe. They can't do this and they can't do that, clueless as usual. They are hoping that by threatening to split them up, these few months would/might hopefully derive better results from the duo. You can spot that the CTC's decisions are never dead on, but rather prolonged indecisive leadership likened to a solid procrastinator. Lucky thing BAM is not in the army business: should we attack or stay put? Defend or retreat? Gosh, how to decide....:D. Let's wait and see. In the meantime, a nuke is dropping...

It is important ur partner feels comfortable in doubles, if not, full potential may not be realised.Better to start from zero at age 21 than age 31.....

I actually think Goh V Shem is 23, and so is Lim Khim Wah. Lim Khim Wah was 2007 WJC in XD, and that should be when he was 18. So 5 years later, I think they're both 23.

Read that Mak Hee Chun and Indra Vontus Mawan might be dropped from the national team, what the hell
happened to the two? I thought they are supposed to be 2 of the best doubles talents we have. Especially Mak who won the WJC & AJC crowns with Teo Kok Siang in 2008, he has been disappointing i have to say...

they should have put to play only mixed double (just like CHN's Zhang Nan and Xu Chen) instead of dropped them from the national team, or they would go for independent...

I’ve been kept in the dark about my future, says Hee Chun

KUALA LUMPUR: Former world junior champion Mak Hee Chun and Vountus Indra Mawan are likely to be dropped from the national team as they do not feature in doubles chief coach Tan Kim Her’s plans for the next two months.
But the 21-year-old Hee Chun claims that he has been kept in the dark about his future.
After the Vietnam Open Grand Prix Gold two weeks ago, Hee Chun said that Kim Her had informed him that his partnership with Teo Kok Siang, ranked 91st in the world, had been split up as they had not achieved any outstanding results.

In fact, Kim Her even paired Kok Siang with Mohd Lutfi Zaim Abdul Khalid for the Indonesian Open from Sept 20-25 and Taiwan Open from Oct 2-7.
Lutfi previously partnered Vountus. The world No. 49 pair were also split up due to poor results. Hee Chun is disappointed that his partnership with Kok Siang had been terminated after less than a year.
“I wanted to retire earlier this year but was told not to.
“I was partnered with Kok Siang and given the assurance that we will be a permanent pair.
“Now, I am without a partner and my name is not even listed in any tournaments,” said Hee Chun.
“I am not even sure if I am still in the national team. I’ll wait for the official announcement (at BAM’s exco meeting).”
Hee Chun-Kok Siang won the world junior title in 2008 but have been paired with different partners over the last four years.

The lanky Hee Chun has also had his fair share of problems in the national team, including the lack of discipline and absence from training.

The only sign of progress he had shown when he was partnered with Tan Wee Kiong. Then, after things went sour between the two, he has been having attitude problems and his performance also went downhill. Also, he started to get overlooked by BAM and the coaches. Not surprising at all though, since Tan Kim Her is known for crackdown and putting those who disrespect him and his rules out of favour.

His mistake was not cooperating with his partner and complain when they were on the correct trend. Hopefully Goh V Shem and Lim Khim Wah won't go down the same road. I am very much more worried for Lim Khim Wah compared to Goh V Shem though, since I always felt that Goh V Shem is favoured by Tan Kim Her, probably because he is very determined to succeed.

personally i think Mak is too skinny...
i watched him play live few times, due to this physical disadvantage..
he cant really execute hard smashes...
