That's a good idea. I was just thinking about it. The Japanese fans search for their sports stars using kanji names instead of English ones, so I suppose the viewership for this thread will probably increase even more

2011 World Championships: 4 JPN WD pairs have qualified

    .
It's great that Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi have qualified as the 4th JPN WD pair at the 2011 World Championships.

    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=E563A742-DF5A-44B0-8253-B53004FAEB4D&draw=4

On Monday, 08-Aug (Round 1), they have a Bye.

On Tuesday, 09-Aug (Round 2), they will face either Ng Hui Ern/Ng Hui Lin (MAS) or Anna Kobceva/Elena Prus (UKR).

I think Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi can make it to Round 3, where they should expect to find their teammates, Miyuki Maeda/Satoko Suetsuna [3], waiting for them. :):):)

    2011 Denmark SSP

Yesterday, at the XD Qualification Rounds, Kenichi Hayakawa/Misaki Matsutomo lost to Ko Sung Hyun/Eom Hye Won (KOR) 14-21, 14-21 in 25 minutes.

(We can see all the 5 KOR XD pairs qualifying to the Main Draw. KOR are growing strong in XD)

Just played hours ago, in the WD Round 1, Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi defeated Cheng Shu/Pan Pan (CHN) 21-19, 21-17 in 42 minutes. It looks like MM/AT will be facing teammates Miyuki Maeda/Satoko Suetsuna [4] in Round 2.

Miyuki Maeda/Satoko Suetsuna [4] were defeated by unseeded Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (DEN).:eek::eek:

We now have a Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi-vs-Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl match.

Lol, why the shocked icon? Last month in the Yonex Japan Open, Misaki lost in the first round in both the WD and the XD. But the scores were respectable against strong opponents; 21-19 18-21 14-21 against Lee Yong Dae/Ha Jung Eun, and 15-21 15-21 against Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl . So it was just a matter of time before they manage to beat them.

So happy for Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi. :D:D:D

In Game 3, Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (DEN) began strongly with a 4-0 lead. I thought it was over for MM/AT as the game moved on to 19-17 with CP/KRJ leading.

    But MM/AT finished with 4 consecutive points to take the match 21-19, 13-21, 21-19. Long match, lasting 59 minutes;

Next round is the at the Quarter-Finals. MM/AT will be facing another home pair, Line Damkjaer Kruse/Marie Roepke.

I believe that MM/AT can make it into the Semi-Finals.

Yes, both the Danes and the Japanese had tough matches going into the next round. In addition, Misaki and Ayaka also played in the XD, lol.
