I hope they can advance to the final vs. the Koreans LYD/YYS for sure and that would be a final match to watch between 2 pairs for possibly the last time.

sad. they lost again to the chn pair LJH/LYC. first time saw them in action in WC2013 and support them ever since. their matches against LYD/YYS especially were exciting and superb.

Ahsan keeps wanting to come front, and that's Hendra's specialty.

So now it devolved into a pair whose front net is great but no one to pile on the pressure. Saw a match prior to today, and Hendra keeps moving back from mid court to smash, after seeing Ahsan coming front.
Nowhere near full power or anything.

I thought their style of play is to keep the shuttle flat, never to lift and make the exchanges as fast and short as possible. I guess Ahsan knows that his body smash is not as hard as before and his attitude in court has changed for the worst.

He keeps wanting to come front, even setting up the net with a block, but why? He's supposed to be the smasher in the duo!

Its so frustrating watching them play. I pity Hendra. He's always caught out by Ahsan front net tricks and whatnot these days.

Well, 2WC and 1 AG, 1 AE... now they are... nvm

They are no longer playing as partners internationally until further notice.

I am still miffed about the fact Ahsan and Hendra has splitted on a sour note. In short look at it this way, the Koreans, especially Lee Yong Dae, has come out on top of the podium. LYD will retire his international career on a high note. YYS was so jubilantly running around the arena proud to have delivered LYD a parting gift of one more SS title to his teammate.

Ahsan on the other hand, is not so much.
    Cheers,

hendra and ahsan not retired, new wave and power usually comes after the olympic games, the opponent has more power, younger, sport science getting forward, they have prepared and read the style play of hendra and hassan
in other word, i think hendra and ahsan doesnt play as pair again is a good decision
hendra will pair with rian gung saputro, and ahsan will pair with berry aggriawan.
they will teach them with experience, and hopefully can entry the top level of MD

Ahsan definitely didn't have the zing he used to this year. The attacking play just wasnt very potent and it all snowballed. Setiawan lost his composure and made some uncharacteristic mistakes (I wouldnt have thought this was possible).

Would have liked to see them go out with an Olympic title but they simply weren't good enough. I think it would have been a different story if the games were in 2013 or 15.

The young Chinese pair beat them twice in a row in Japan and Korean open. The Chinese pair are quite exciting to watch and been to the final twice in a row, wining one of them and taking 3 games and the best effort of LYD as his last home tournament, to beat them. Ahsan and co know they're finished and now changing partners. Where is Kevin Sanjaya and his partner? The exciting pair from Indonesia, that's what I like to know.

Angga/Berry just won the Thai GPG event. Congrats to them. I hope the change of pairing is going to be successful for both, Angga and Berry.

Ryan Agung may be the next partner for M. Ahsan after Hendra's decision to be independent player.

From twice partner changing Ahsan/Berry and Ahsan/Ryan, the most suitable partner for Ahsan will be decided soon by the coach. I think the coach will put Ryan Agung.
