Cant read Japanese, doubt if anyone here can,

but a guess is that those picturesa could be the house where the Sideks grew up

and the plaque was built by the government to honour them.

The outdoor court was their tranning ground when the sideks was young. Its a piece of badminton history in Msia.

I was reading it (I can barely understand some Japanese) and the training process is so tough. They play like crazy amount of time a day, and you can see the shuttles they used (like thousands!).....wow.....

It's like a Badminton Concentration Camp :) They sleep, eat, and play all together! Nice!

Is that Misbun and his house? It sure looks really friendly and welcoming. Apparently Hafiz Hashim lived in his house for a while...

A stark contrast of the cold and serious Misbun portrayed in the media and during tournaments.

All these articles are authored by my friend Akira Hamanaka (anyone remember that when I was still living in Japan we hosted a semi-offical Japan Open site to get the results out quickly - he was the driving force behind that), who has a long association with the Sidek family, and has visited them many times with various different players from his home town in Niihama, Japan. One of the pics shows his son training with the juniors!
I don't have time at the moment to translate the article but he has a whole training diary from the last time they went over and trained with Hafiz and Roslin Hashim (this was just before Hafiz won the All England). If people want I can try and find the time to translate them soon

Excellent thread! I wished there was an English version of the website so I could read up on the going-ons.
