    I’ve seen quite a few posts questioning how to combat sweaty hands. After testing lots of different combinations, I’ve found the following to be a sure fire way to minimize sweat:

    1) Tacky/Absorbent Overgrip or Towel Grip
    2) Sweat Band
    3) Grip Enhancing Liquid/Powder/Spray
    4) Multiple rackets and switch after every few points
    5) Arm Sleeve and/or wear a glove

    For most badders, 1 and 2 will suffice. For drippers, 1, 2 and 3 will do the trick. For super drippers, 1-4 will do it. But for that 0.001%, the super-duper-uber drippers (SDUDs), you need 1-4 plus 5, wear an arm sleeve and/or wear a glove.

    Most of the sweat on your hand actually does not come from the hand. It comes from the sweat on your arm and it trickles down to your hand. This is key. Adding a sweat band will reduce the sweat by at least 50%. Couple that with an overgrip or towel grip and most are good to go.

    Panda’s sweat a lot so on the most humid day, 1-4 is more than sufficient. Resorting to 5, I felt very weird, but it’s very effective. :p Usually, 1-3 with an occasional 4, is just fine.

    I’m not into towel or absorbent grips because 1) they are more slippery (without grip spray/powder) and 2) eventually, the grip will collect so much sweat, your racket will weigh significantly more, weighing you down and changing the balance point.

    If you have problems gripping your racket due to sweat and are not sure of the way to go, try the suggestions above, and see if it cures your sweating tendencies. :)

    Nice dink, are those prince grip powder any good? I saw some at the local sports shop and was reluctant to buy it.. is it better or the same as the yonex grip powder.

    The Prince grip enhancer is liquid. It's very good, on par with the the Yonex stuff which is very good too.

    All the grip enhancers dry your skin and leave a tacky residue for better gripping.

    ohhhhhhh. i got a towel grip and i love it but its just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo expesnsive. and i have to buy a new one every couple of months :(

    Alright, i might go buy the Prince Grip enhancer, does that liquid make your hand sticky? or more of dry. Im not really found of really sticky hands and holding a badminton racquet.

    my methods are from 1 to 3, but using karakal's grip powder. it is more available in shops compare to other brands. No4, change to different type of racket when want to change playing style...:D

    I'm a super sweater. Noone dares touch my racket handle after I've played three points into a game :p Actually I seem to only sweat in my hand, the rest of my body sweats very little, just my head a bit. To show you how serious my hand sweating problem is, Yonex Super Grap goes from Yellow to dark grey and soaked, requiring a replacement, in about 10 hours, and Yonex Towel Grip is dried out and needing a replacement in about 15 hours.

    I've tried using a Wilson Racquetball Glove, which worked initially, but my game started to suffer because I lost a lot of touch.

    So far the best grip I've used is Karakal's PU Super Grip. It's the only grip that lasts for more than 2 weeks and is still tacky and cushiony after heavy extensive use. Before that, I used Wilson X-Tra Tack, which was good initially, but the tackiness wore off in about a half a week, and then it became as slippery as soap to me. Unfortunately...the PU Super grip is pretty expensive :X

    Thanks for the guide! I am a bit of a dripper so with some Aplpha overgrip and wristband there was considerably much less sweat, but I still feel uncomfortable with a wristband for some reason. Thats just me xD

    Yea, omegamiko my Yonex super grap does the same thing in about 1hr of play it goes from newly yellow to a wet dark grey color. ANd i seem to ruin my towel grip in around 4 hrs of play

    i personally dont borrow my no1 (the one i use/the one i stick with) racket to other people.. i just say its the racket im using and i dont lend it to others. the grip is usually wet though lol

    DinkAlot, may I know the exact model of the Head, Gamma, Kirschbaum and Dunlop overgrips in your photo? Thanks.

    The Volkl and Alpha overgrips are very good for my sweaty palms indeed.

    For easier alternative. Just have a towel next to the court that you are playing. Having too many things on your arms and wrist will have a burden effect. Simply said.. a little heavy. Plus all the sweat accumulated in those stuffs that you are wearing on your hand/arm and wrist. It will be heavier.
    Choose a good towel grip and at most just use a wrist band.

    i sweat mostly on my arm to hand, tried to diy a bunch of towel grips but fade fast. now i buy lots of cheap rubble grips and change regularly. Or apply SMALL AMOUNT of baby powder on hand which work great with little moisture. A fast way to dry out my palm and grip.

    funny thing is, I never tried that bottle of yonex grippowder I have lying around on my overgrips...

    For me #4 is the most comfortable, but good post!

    I tried the towel by the way side method and for me and heavy sweaters, it just doesn't work well.

    Also, when the sweat band and/or arm sleeve is soaked, you remove it and switch to another. That should be common sense. :p

    The grips are:

    Volkl Super Grip II: first rate, one of my top three favorites

    Gamma Smart Grip: excellent in all aspects...so far

    Wilson Super Tack: the tackiest grip I tried to date but slippery when wet

    Wilson Comfi: haven't tried yet

    Alpha: I have not tried it in depth but so far, very good

    Head Super Comp: very good to excellent so far in feel and tackiness

    Kirschbaum Touch It: very good feel, good tackiness

    Dunlop Hydramax: non-tacky, velvety feel, excellent at absorbing sweat
