racket shaft loses its stiffness after some time?

    i am just curious. does a badminton racket shaft lose its stiffness after some time? so that the stiff becomes medium stiff after a while.. just curious.:rolleyes:

    Yes.. after about 15 years or so though. It also depends on how the racquet was treated, what kind of environment it was kept in, maybe.

    Would small breaks in the carbon not accumulate during frequent play?
    This would increase flex, and lead to the shaft eventually flexing more than it should leading to it snapping. (Just a theory).

    with the temtptation of new rackets and the rate of new tech rackets coming onto the shelf, i doubt anyone would really get into the situation where shaft becomes to flex after a while.

    Yes there is minimum change in flex but high grade carbon fiber more or less maintains it's rigidity until failure (breakage).
