Saina backs BAI’s debatable decision New Delhi: Promising shuttler Saina Nehwal has supported Badminton Association of India’s decision to restrict players’ participation in international tournaments to attend training camps, saying it was important to improve fitness level to go beyond preliminary rounds in competitions. “I think we need time for training to stay fit. It is not first and second round always. We have to move beyond that at tough competitions. We have to be extra fit to compete with other fast Asian players,” Saina said. “The movement on the court plays an important part and to improve on this aspect of the game we need time for training,” she said before leaving for Malaysia where she will participate in the Badminton Asia Championship today.
