Shin Splints or Shin Pain

    hi, i am regular badminton player, playing 6 days a week. for couple of weeks now, im suffering with shin splints. its getting worse with the passage of time. does anyone has any advice on its treatment and cure also on how can we avoid it? that would be great help and i'd be thankful for that...

    1. Rest your body. It needs time to heal.
    2. Ice your shin to ease pain and swelling.
    3. Protective sleeve to soften/absorb the impact to your leg
    4. Proper shoes and lower the intensity of your exercise may help

    A serious mistake is to try to "play through the pain" if it is a shin pain. This type of pain usually means there is injury to the bone and/or surrounding tissue. Forcing it more may worsen the injury and make the pain more intense and longer lasting.

    Yeah I'm on rest now, though I don't have any swelling, so I think resting and applying some relief gel would do the job. Thanks for the help. :)
