2011 Denmark Open SSP: Sung Ji Hyun will face Yao Jie (NED) in Round 1

    .
    2011 Denmark Open SSP

In Round 1, Wed 19-Oct, Sung Ji Hyun will be facing Yao Jie (NED). Yao Jie just won the WS title last week at the Dutch Open GP; indicating that she is in top form and she should be a tough opponent to defeat.

Let's see if SJH is able to make it to Round 2.

BTW, SJH is currently ranked World No.12, just 2 places below teammate Bae Youn Joo.

Yes, she is also ranked 11th in the Super Series ranking, putting her one spot out of qualifying for the SS Finals (once you exclude the 3rd and 4th Chinese players). There are currently six players all within 3000 points of one another, though.

Well Done Sung Ji Hyun !!! :):):)

SJH's next opponent will be a tougher one, Wang Shixian [2] (CHN).

2011 Korea GP Gold Quarter-Finals: The Sung Ji Hyun-vs-Hwang Hye Youn match

    .
Returning to this thread. Sung Ji Hyun has arrived at the Quarter-Finals at the 2011 Korea GP Gold tournament playing this week.

At the Quarter-Finals, Sung Ji Hyun will be facing former KOR top player, Hwang Hye Youn.

I believe that HHY is back in good form (recovering from her foot injury that she told me she had some 2 years ago). Therefore I believe that SJI could be facing a tough battle against HHY at this QF.

    To follow SJI's results, here is the link;

2011 Korea GP Gold: Sung Ji Hyun is at the Semi-Finals

    .
But Hwang Hye Youn gave a walkover to Sung Ji Hyun to enter the Semi-Finals.:eek::eek:

At the Semi-Finals, SJH will be facing Liu Xin [4] (CHN). I believe SJH can make it to the Finals.

SJH's cross net shots accuracy greatly improved in Korea GPG. Hope that'll continue in Liuzhou.

2012 Uber Cup Final: Sung Ji Hyun, please don't feel so sad

    .
As I was watching the conclusion of the 2012 Uber Cup Final, I have to say to Sung Ji Hyun: Please don't feel so sad.

For Sung Ji Hyun to have given our current World No.1, Wang Yihan, a scare of her life, SJH should be proud of her performance.

It's great that Wang Yihan did well to come back to win the match, not that SJH didn't try hard enough.

Now, we need another 2 years for SJH to prepare for her next Uber Cup.

Even though she lost, she played great though. I prayed that she'll push WYH for 3 games and she did! Love it. Cant wait to see her in action in OG.

    .
Agree... But Sung Ji Hyun felt that she had let her teammates down. :(:(:(

I know her teammates are all saying that she performed well, and it wasn't her fault that Korea lost.

Did she cried after the match? Must've missed it... When WYH won, I went to the kitchen, refilled my coffee. Managed to glimpsed at the roaring crowd and proud LYB though...
