i THINK TO BE a successful leauge... you need more clubs..
that's important to give more people to play
retired internationl should involve as much as possible becasue this give opputurnity for youngster to play with them thus improving the youngster but this is only good if you have more clubs.. The more the better!

OLD YOUNG RETIRED CURRENT anyone could join! that's the best

Well....you have to have your club first and you need to select them before joining your club...it is hard and expenive to do " talent scouting" IMG agency pays a lot of money to get Sharapova or Kournikova for talent scout...

So where are you based now?

I am based in England and will be coming back to Indonesia by 2009 so in 2 years.....My company is planning to do this in 5-10 years from now...well I can't mention the name yet....THis investor is an Indonesian guy based in England and he owns companies in Indonesia.....My job is to basically set up a team in Indonesia to give the league more competition.......

our long term plan would be

    1) recruiting Tang Xian Fu from China and either Candra Wijaya or Tony Gunawan to be our coach

    2) our singles coach would be Li Mao and maybe Heryanto Arbi or Morten Frost Hansen........so this would be our selection.....but right now we are still waiting.................

The plan would go ahead if:

the league continues to function over the next five years...
the league must be widely watched all around Indonesia....as we are doing this for marketing purpose as well......

so I'll be going to Indonesia again this summer to look for possible venues for practices in those places I mentioned above...........

Well it would be good if anyone here can give an assesment about the talent pool in those areas.....I would survey it myself this summer....

    ^^Just want to chime in..^^

..well, your plan sounds interesting, for what it's worth..but here's my 2 cents, if y'all don't mind..
IMO, running a league is all about business. And in order to have "long-lasting" effect, 1 thing must be clear. That at the end, it all depends on the economy--->where is the money coming from. If one is to look around at other professional sports leagues across the world, one can see that economics play an important factor. This is where those professional leagues get their monies and endorsements from. And those leagues usually reside in countries where the economy is quite stable and the people/fans are able to afford & support whatever franchises they have(ie. U.S., Europe).
Now if we turn our attention to the idea of the Indonesian Super League, i think in a short-term, it could benefit the league. However, considering it's in Indonesia, arguably, one of the economically-challenged country in Asia, if not in the world, one must wonder, how are the people going to go out there and consistently support those teams?? Remember, one of the reason foreign players want to play there is the possibility of raking in some pretty good money. Now, if there is/are not many people who will go out and buy tickets & watch the matches, how are the sponsors going to pay the foreign players, let alone the local players. Consider also, there are soccer/football and NBA to entertain the rest of the citizens.
Also, we have to consider the prestige of this league, since this is a newly born league:
    1. What will be the "selling" point of this league??..
    2. How much of a recognition will it have on other foreign players??..

So, at the end, it will all come down to:
    1. Whether the sponsor can consistently support the players, esp. foreign players?..
    2. Whether the fans can consistently spend their hard earned monies to watch these matches?..
    3. The power of commercialism-thru advertisement and whether the sponsors can generate enough profit through their marketing campaign(ie. advertisement etc.)..

Again, i'm not "shooting" down the idea, i think it's a good idea to "jumpstart" badminton again in INA. But there are many factors to consider and one of the main factor is the economy.;)

Ko Candra or Tony, I think they still gonna play for 1 or 2 more yrs... As long as they can still play.. Ko Candra too, may go to Jayaraya to coach... What place do you think it's gonna be?? Jakarta?? I think its hard for Ko Candra too if its not in Jakarta, family... Hmm, maybe you want Mas Sigit Budiarto, coz his and Fran's performance is not so good, he may really go soon... unless he meets a new partner..
