19 year old K.Maneesha, and 23 year old Manu Attri is leading now 13-9 in the 2nd game..

They got recently paired up, for mixed doubles I suppose..
Manu Attri used to partner with Sikki Reddy and has a highest ranking 103..

And K.Maneesha, used to partner with K.Nandagopal (elder brother of K.Srikanth) and Pranav Jerry Chopra

It has been a wonderful tournament for these two so far,
in Round 2, outclassing the 2nd Seed Danny-Chrisnanda & Vanessa Neo,
in QF, 7th seed Aik Quan Tan & Meng Yean Lee

I do hope this mixed doubles pair works out well..

WD - Vivian Hoo Kah Mun/Woon Khe Wei (MAS) v Amelia Alicia Anscelly/Soong Fie Cho (MAS)
    H-2-H stats : 0-0
MAS WD pairs are doing well here, the more fave Vivian Hoo/Woon KW should bag their title against their team mates Anscelly/Soong who stunned local hope Gutta/Ponnappa last night.

WS - Saina Nehwal (IND) v Carolina Marin (ESP)
    H-2-H : 2-0
Will the World & European Champion finally end title drought after her sensational win in Copenhagen last Summer? Defending champion and home hero Saina Nehwal is really tough opponent for Marin.

MD - Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (DEN) v Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov (RUS)
    H-2-H : 4-2
The world #2 will not waste their chance to grab 7000 point against the towering Ivanov and his partner.

MS - Kidambi Srikanth (IND) v Parupalli Kashyap (IND)
    H-2-H : 0-0
This is first time meeting for these two IND leading players. Seems Srikanth displays struggling pattern to reach final while Kashyap has pretty smooth path, only once played rubber games to defeat Axelsen yesterday.

XD - Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili (INA) v Manu Attri/K.Maneesha (IND)
    H-2-H : 0-0
The top seed INA pair is overwhelming favourite to beat local underdog Attri/Maneesha who performed excellently to knock out three seeded pairs until last round.

Srikanth is probably meeting Kashyap for the first time, in last one year. But both of them must be knowing each others game so well, since they both practice under Gopichand in the same academy..

So this is the first time, where Kashyap meeting Srikanth, after Srikanth got the Indian #1 w.r.t world ranking.

There is a match recorded from the Indian Badminton League, from 2013,
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkFlipYwWPY

This must be a interesting encounter, since both knows each others game well, and they each wanted to prove themself in front of the home crowd about their supremacy.. (#1 & #2 face to face.)

I saw the previous games between them, and saina defeated Marin convincingly then. I've a lot of respect for Carolina Marin, but saina seem like a bad matchup for her compared to the Chinese players whom she enjoy playing.

Congrats Saina on her wonderful victory, and Carolina Marin has played wonderful badminton..

After that first game, which was so close till 17-18 pts, and Carolina winning that game by consecutively taking around 5 pts, it was a tough task for Saina.

And all along the 2nd game it was Carolina who were leading though to a very slight margins (1 or 2 pts).. And at the end it went 20all, 21all, 22all, 23all, and then Saina taking 2 consecutive pts, to win that game for 25-23..

That loosing that 2nd game probably was the turning point for Carolina and Saina. Saina suddenly got more solid in her game, and started playing more attacking, and her defence got much better, where as Carolina got more nerves..

And on the 3rd game it was all Saina, but Carolina takes credit for good fight..

Congrats to both of them on a wonderful game.

We didn't see the normal attacking game, with aggression that we used to see in Srikanth's games.

May be just that they were under the same coaching camp, and know each others game too well, so Srikanth might have chosen to go with a patient game, by outmaneuvering Kashyap.

But Kashyap on the other hand was so eager from the very first itself, to prove his supremacy over his younger compatriot, and was more attacking of the two..

    Well played Kashyap..
