Tennis elbow

    hi
    i need some advice. i just got pain at my elbow which refer to the tennis elbow. some ppl say put ice for the pain to ease. some say go for massage. which is which??? some say put medicine oil or cream. ??

    Tennis elbow can turn into something very serious if it's not treated properly. You should see a medical professional (doctor, physiotherapist, ...)

    If possible, take a few weeks off badminton and let your arm rest. I know that's the last thing you want to hear. But if you don't rest and let your arm recover properly, this condition can stick around for months or years.

    Ice will help a little, ten minutes a couple of times a day. There are stretches you can do, and medications that will sometimes help. Ask your doctor.

    how does this sinseh treat tennis elbow? does he do acupucture or attempt to massage and bent your elbow? Thanks

    If there is already pain, I think you shouldn't massage it. It will get worse. Find a doctor but abstain from any massaging.

    If pain is occurring before or at the very start of exercise, you need to rest as damage has occurred and inflammation is present. A sports physio or doctor will likely first suggest resting the injury ....this means rest not play a little bit less. After the main inflammation and pain has reduced over time you re start playing however it may return. Not any miracle cures (massage etc may help in the short term) however things to look at. 1. Correct warm up n cool down can reduce damage to the playing joints. 2. Your technique on high speed overheads could be causing some of the problems. 3. Long term strengthing and conditioning of the forearm and upper arm will be required if you really want to get rid of tennis elbow and your very active (this is why top players don't suffer this often.) 4. Chronic long term sufferers can receive cortisone as a pain killer, however this isn't always effective and will hide any further damage you may be doing.

    He treat well my injuries that had been disturbed me for months.

    Hi there bro ..... :)

    I used to have the same problem some time back too from playing too much badminton.
    I've also tried rubbing medicated oil and various creams, but they didn't work either.

    Then, i think came across a post in BC regarding stretching exercises to relieve 'Tennis Elbow' pain.
    I can't remember where the post is, but i did save the link to the website. (below)

    Warm up the muscles before play, I don't mean hitting shuttles. I mean stretching exercise with n without rackets.This will minimise tendon n muscular injuries.

    The stretch this man does above is good but also stretch the arm the other by by extending the hand the other way

    Also you need to strengthen the forearm using ecentric exercises

    But now rest it, ice it and massage will help!!! Cross fibre massage will be good where you massage across the bellt of the muscle. Instead of massage up and down the forearm from hand to elbow. Massage with your thumb across the top of the muscle belly from left to right. Use a bit of massage oil or cream but not too much. Doing this 10 mins every other day will help a lot.

    I use this cream called "penetrex" Been bothered by tennis elbow n golfer's elbow from bowling after diagnosed by my specialist.After doing research online found this cream,works wonders for me,give it a try.Introed to a few friends n family,they tried and was surprised by the effect,initial thoughts by them were that it's a "numbing" cream but then it proved other wise.Do a search on the Internet for this cream.***disclaimer..I am in no way advertising or related to the manufacturer of the above mentioned cream,just that for me,it works much better than pain killers or icing or other forms of pain alleviating methods***

    I have contacted the sinseh and was informed he has moved to Bedok North. Was his Tampines clinic located near the Tampines West CC?

    I have tennis elbow from bowling and am looking for a good sinseh.
