Indonesian hopeful, Gideon/Sukamuljo defeated Rio bronze medalist Ellis/Langridge comfortably yesterday and will take on tricky rival, Hoki/Kobayashi.

Mixed doubles world number one Ko SH/Kim HN almost bit the dust by high spirited Thailand pair, Phuangphuapet/Kititharakul, won narrowly 21-19 at third game, next the unheralded Watanabe/Higashino who shocked The Adcocks in second round will be their quarterfinal opponent. China has secured one semifinal spot through the new sensational pair Zheng/Chen against Zhang/Li. On bottom half of draw, it's INA-KOR affair, the Olympic Champion Ahmad/Natsir alongside with current All England winner Jordan/Susanto have complicated test, Yoo/Chang and Choi/Chae respectively. Based on their playing consistency as well as their H2H, I'm leaning more towards JOJ besting THW though. Although I'm silently hoping THW will prove me wrong.

I tend to agree with GC, HBJ is a bit fatigued from playing a lot lately.

Rare to hear both GC and Steen to discuss and praise a CHN player so much.
