The World Cup was an annual tournament organized by the International Management Group (IMG). It was held between 1981 and 1997.

The World Grand Prix Finals is an annual tournament organized by the International Badminton Federation (IBF) to crown the best badminton player of the year. The tournament only invites the top players in the year-end world rankings. The tournament started in 1983, with the last tournament held in 2001. Since then the tournament has not been included in the IBF's events calendar.

    Actually..

..it was planned & included as part of BWF's (used to be IBF) schedule for late last yr. Unfortunately, much to the dismay of the many baddy (and BCers) fans, it never materialized (due to other factors)..:p
