Hi guys, I remember kwun actually had a thread like this before, but i got to experience it myself today! :D

I was playing with punchclear(a member in this forum) at hougang sportshall(Singapore) this morning. We were playing doubles and were playing against each other. The game was like this, Punchclear/Uncle vs Sgbad/Uncle.

The game was on, and we were slugging all out to try to get points...
So on one shot, Punchclear almost clashed with his partner at the rear court(miscommunication) and he was abit off balance after the uncle lobbed back into my court, so i took this opportunity to drive the shuttle down punchclear's backhand seeing that he was off balance, but as usual, he could take that drive quite easily and nicely and put it across the net, I ran to the net, did a netshot, the shuttle tumbled in the air twice before it hit the tape, at that instance, i was thinking to myself, this netshot will sure win this point, as it is about to tumble down the net. So, all of us, were waiting for the netshot,

BUT!!!The shuttle did not touch the ground! It stood on the whitetape on its feathers! At that moment, Punchclear was like telling me, eh! you got to post this on the forum! the shuttle is actually standing on the white tape!

But sorry guy, no pictures, my stupid partner went up to the net to pluck off the shuttle before i could take out my handphone, i was damn .

    Yes, it is a let.

The same thing happened @ Singapore Open a few years ago.

Just wanted to clarify a few things...

1- It was just pure-luck :)o) that I stuck my racket out and caught the shuttle, sending it over the net (Sgbad made me look good in his description...)
2- As Sgbad played his tumbling net-shot, I was lunging desperately in a vain attempt to scoop the shuttle cross-court (desperation shot):eek:
3- As I fell off balance, I was trying hard to think up an excuse for being so thoroughly ridiculed at the net (I'm very much a 'front-man' in MD :eek::eek:)... only to realise that the shuttle actually NEVER landed.:eek::eek:

It was one of those things in badminton that you aren't likely to forget...:)
Sgbad is a solid player with good power and nice 'soft' hands. :D:D:D
