I've heard, through the grapevine, that Yonex will unveil some new gear at the Yonex open in Japan this year. :D Can anyone confirm or deny this? Has Yonex done this in the past? I'm going to go to that tournament anyway, but I can't seem to concentrate at work...I just keep day dreaming about it.

Even if the launch new shoes in JO. It wont be in Singapore so fast. My suggestion is that you go for the Shb100Le.

I have a question - if they unveil new rackets at the JO, doesn't that mean the players must have had them for a while?

They surely don't just hand brand new rackets to the players on the first day of the tournament - even the best players would need time to adjust. I'm surprised more information hasn't leaked out.

Unless they give the new stuff to the Japanese team only, which would be a bit sneaky, not to mention unfair....

I don't see why it's unfair. The newest might not be the best. Actually, if a JP player is "forced" to use a new model due to contract, I think it's unfair to her/him, as s/he can't use the racket that s/he gets used to.

Nope.. most of the players doesnt even know when a new racket comes out. Same goes to the Japanese Team.
