Something that I have wondered for a long time. Near the back of the court, at the right singles sideline, there is one nick towards the doubles long serving line and another one between that line and the baseline. What are those two nicks for?

its suppose to be lines for Shuttle test, u hit a bird from the other base line towards that line, so u can check if the bird is fast, or slow, and if the flight is striaght

Correct me if im wrong, but thats what i remember it as =p

When testing shuttle speed, a shuttle of correct speed should land between these marks.

Most players however, especially at higher level, prefer that the shuttle lands between the front mark and the back doubles service line.
