Is it me or does it seem strange that these 2 traditional powerhouses of badminton aren't producing any real contenders to fight on the world stage. The only recent name I remember was Wong Mew Choo, but she was alway injured. I mean Thailand, Germany, Japan, Denmark, and India all have world beaters. I mean Indo+Malay have a combined population of Approx. 258m (28m + 230m) people. They should at least have 1 world beater, for comparsion Korea has 50m people and they beat China in the Uber Cup. Denmark has 5m and they have Tine Baum!
