I remember, the BWF said, one tournament should calculate only once within 52 weeks.
I don't see double counting occurring here. You've circled two tournaments occurring at different times.
On 22 Jun, 2006, the IBF said that a certain tournament can be calculated only once within 52 weeks.
well, it's within 52 weeks, look at the dates:
the difference is 47 weeks or so, less than 52...
I just saw this week's updated rankings and found it wrong as well.
The difference between the Malaysia Open, Korea Open and Indonesia Open's 2006 and 2007 dates were less than/within 52 weeks and the 2006 points were taken off once the 2007 points were added.
It is either BWF were wrong again or they changed rule again. Probably they are wrong again as they already had problems adding Sudirman Cup's points the week after this year.
I also recollect they changed the rule to include tournament points only once if they overlap during the 52 week period i.e. when WC 2007 points included WC 2006 should be expunged. I have not heard of a rule change back to any top 10 tournament points within last 52 weeks. Any definitive view out there on this? Either they are right or they are wrong.
